(Contributed by Alberta Hualian) In order to facilitate and serve the vast number of overseas Chinese, Consul Li Zhijing and Consul Gao Xuesong from the Document Section of the Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles visited Phoenix on April 6, 2013 to accept applications for Chinese passport renewal and reissue on-site for overseas Chinese. Entrusted by the Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles, the Hualian Federation of Alberta invited the Greater Phoenix Chinese Overseas Chinese Association to assist in the application for the renewal and reissue of Chinese passports. Under the unified organization and coordination of the Chinese Federation of Alberta, with the active assistance of the Greater Phoenix Chinese Overseas Chinese Association, and with the strong support of the Alberta Times, Asian American News, Western American News, "Sunbird" Chinese Chinese Network, COFCO Import and Export Phoenix Branch, Global Travel Agency, and many volunteers, the certification service was successfully completed. With a serious and responsible work attitude, the two consuls patiently answered every question and accepted numerous applications for Chinese passport renewal and reissue on the day of application, winning unanimous praise from overseas Chinese! In addition to local overseas Chinese, there are also overseas Chinese who come from afar from Show Low. The document team of the Consulate General provides on-site office services in the local area, which has indeed solved practical problems for overseas Chinese and international students, greatly saving them the time and various expenses of going to the Consulate General in Los Angeles to apply for certificates in person. The volunteers used their personal rest time to make detailed and extensive preparations in advance. At the certificate application site, a one-stop service is provided for overseas Chinese who come to apply for certificates, including: filling out forms, copying, and taking photos. The volunteers worked together, cooperated with each other, and continued from beginning to end, and did a lot of work for the smooth progress of this certificate service. The overseas Chinese said that this certificate application service was the most successful in the past two years. Here, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the two consuls and volunteer volunteers of the Documentation Section of the Consulate General: Fei Jian, Tao Shicheng, Zhao Yixian, Wang Weizi, Li Jian, Wang Yang, Zhang Huafang, Cui Zengqi, Xie David, Qiuxiang, Kenny Fung, etc.!
