(Contributed by Cui Zengqi) On April 20th, on a bright spring morning, some Chinese people came to the beautiful northern foothills of Nanshan Mountain. Here is the Arizona Law Enforcement Academy They are students who signed up to participate in the one-day police experience training course organized by the Phoenix Overseas Chinese Federation. This is an activity arranged for us by Charles, the police officer who specializes in contacting the Chinese. He prepared a delicious breakfast with Mexican characteristics for everyone. After a simple and humorous self-introduction, a police officer with 17 years of experience gave the students a brief overview of the academy. This is the base for police training. Fifty percent of the police in Dizhou have undergone rigorous training in this academy and passed the exam before they can work as police officers. They have to go back to school every three years for further studies. Then he talked about the physiological reactions and changes of various parts of the human body when encountering gangsters, as well as the common sense of the police under what circumstances they can shoot.

Next, the groups were led by different instructors to conduct field exercises. The trainees put on full-body protective clothing and entered the training. When a gangster confronts you with a knife, how do you subdue him? When should you shoot when a criminal is holding a robbery? How to deal with someone who wants to commit suicide with a knife? In a car chase, the gangster abandons the car and runs away. How do you catch the gangster? Thrilling scenes that you have only seen in movies appear before your eyes. Now you are on the scene, holding a loaded gun (rubber bullets in this case) to try to subdue the gangsters. what to do? In this brief moment, wisdom, reaction, and judgment are all integrated into one. At this time, you will have an unprecedented feeling of excitement, a feeling that can only be found in the police profession.

The most exciting thing is the live ammunition shooting. After the instructors briefly demonstrated the range and effects of rifles, pistols and different bullets, each student fired live ammunition from the pistol. It was the first time for most of the students to pick up a real gun. They were panicking, their heartbeats were racing, and their hands were shaking. However, the instructor taught you step by step and continued to encourage you. In the end, everyone happily took their report card (the target paper recording the bullet holes) and the remaining bullet shells home to report to their relatives and friends: I also shot a gun today! This day was so meaningful and wonderful!

When people left the police academy with excitement and excitement, many students asked the same question, can we come back again? Are there any further training courses? The answer is yes, yes. People are looking forward to the Overseas Chinese Federation organizing some similar activities to help us better integrate into American society.
