Spring has come early in Phoenix, and joy and laughter are in Hope! On the occasion of bidding farewell to the old year and welcoming the new, Alberta Hope Chinese School held the 2014 Year of the Horse Spring Festival Dinner at Fengcheng Restaurant on the evening of January 25th.

Suddenly, the annual rings of the years made another circle inadvertently. We wave goodbye to the fruitful 2013 with joy and welcome the new year with persistence and pursuit. 2013 is a special year for Hope Chinese School in its 19th year of operation. The school won the honorary title of "Overseas Chinese Education Demonstration School" issued by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council. The school library Huaxing Bookstore was established and started. Yan Jieya won the 2014 Alberta Most Outstanding Female Youth Competition. Students have achieved good results in various competitions. Principal Xie Xiaohong reviewed and summarized the past year and thanked teachers, students, parents and volunteers for their efforts, support and selfless dedication. Looking forward to 2014, it is a year full of challenges and pregnant with hope. The school will turn honors into strength, requiring teachers to continuously improve the quality of teaching and strive to build efficient classrooms to make classroom teaching more vibrant and dynamic. That night, teachers, students, parents, volunteers and guests, including Mesa Community College representative Patricia Esparza and previous school administrators, gathered together to celebrate this special day. The old principals Tang Xiaoxian, Chen Pu, Wang Xinxin, Shuai Zhiruo, Zhao Caihong and board consultant Li Jian introduced the origin and history of Hope Chinese School respectively, and shared the pains and joys of Hope Chinese School's growth step by step. After the dinner, there was a wonderful performance by the school dance class, which started with the dance "I Wish You a New Year" specially choreographed by teacher Jiang Lin for the Spring Festival. The children had joyful smiles on their faces, holding red lanterns, and wearing festive national costumes. They were beaming as soon as they appeared and felt like the opening of the CCTV Spring Festival Gala. As soon as the opening dance ended, the principals distributed red envelopes to all the children that night. The scene was so lively that even host Lin Xin was squeezed aside by the children and laughed. When the children in Teacher Tang Ke's small class performed "Rap Face" and "Eternal Beauty", the little "emperor" and "concubine" on the stage were not in a hurry, but the parents in the audience were anxious. Everyone pointed and pointed, but the "emperor" and "concubine" were not small, attracting bursts of laughter. Elizabeth Sun's "Legend" and Sun Hongwei's "Happy Gathering" were even more impressive, while teacher He Chunling's class performed "Prairie Mother" boldly and boldly, showing professionalism in every gesture.
