(Draft by Li Quanbang of Hope Chinese School on 2/12/14) The 2014 Phoenix China Chess Open will end on February 8th. The participating chess players are divided into four groups according to their chess strength to compete. After three rounds of more than five hours of fierce competition, three winners were determined from each group. It is hoped that the two young chess players from the Chinese school, Eric Lin (2nd Dan) and Denis Liu (12th level), will win the championship in Group A and Group D respectively. Eric Lin played three pieces against Jason Lin (6th Dan). The game was very intense. Eric won this crucial round and basically secured the first place in Group A. Group D where Denis is playing is weak. It is not easy for Denis to win two games in a row. Congratulations to Eric and Denis for winning the 2014 China Chess Open.

>Group A winners: Kevin Yang (3rd place), Jason Lin (2nd place), Eric Lin (1st place)
