The Library of Congress decides to collect "Pearl of the Desert" After review, the U.S. Library of Congress decided to collect the book "Pearl of the Desert", which proves that this book is of great reference value and will also become a valuable information and document for people (including dignitaries in the U.S. Congress) to understand the history, culture and political activities of the Chinese in Phoenix. Zhang Zhaohong, the author of "Pearl of the Desert", has received a notice of official collection by the Library of Congress.

"Pearl of the Desert" is a book that reflects the struggle history of the Chinese in Alberta and local art and culture. It has been widely praised since its release and has been included in some libraries across the United States. The Overseas Chinese Association will archive the book "Pearl of the Desert" to the general library; after the ASU Arizona State University Library obtained the book, it has been registered in the world's largest bibliographic database (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WorldCat) and will be displayed on the online catalog of the Arizona State University Library; the Phoenix Public Library has displayed the book in the Arizona Room for public viewing. He Leping, a researcher at the Arizona State University Library, recommended "Pearl of the Desert" to the Library of Congress. The author Zhang Zhaohong has recently received a written notice of official collection by the Library of Congress.

During the Phoenix Chinese celebration of the 63rd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the author presented "Pearl of the Desert" to Deputy Consul General Bian Lixin and the Chinese Consulate General in Romania. This book was also presented to Luo Qiao Cultural and Educational Center, World Daily, Sing Tao Daily, local newspapers and media, Sunbird website, New Oriental Art School, Chinese schools and other social and cultural education units; this book was presented to representatives of the American and American Chinese Association Annual Conference, the American Longgang General Office Representative Conference, and the National Huang Family Congress; distributed to seventeen groups under the Overseas Chinese Federation, Phoenix-Chengdu Sister Cities and the Asian Photography Association of Asia.

"Pearl of the Desert" was sold for charity on the US Fourth of July and presented as a gift at a symposium commemorating the September 18th Anti-Japanese War. Relevant articles have been published and serialized in "Fengcai Jifu", "Longgang Jifu" and major local newspapers and websites; the Chinese Chamber of Commerce Arizona – Celebrating 75 years and CACA Phoenix also quoted the information of "Pearl of the Desert". "Pearl of the Desert" allows the advanced deeds and local culture of overseas Chinese in Alberta and Phoenix to be more widely publicized and disseminated.
