At 8 pm on November 22, the "Thunder World" modern dance troupe from Beijing completed their 2014 North American tour in Phoenix, bringing a successful conclusion to the US tour. The Arizona Art School has reached a preliminary cooperation intention with the "Thunder World" modern dance company. In the future, outstanding dance students from Arizona will be sent to Beijing to participate in the training of the modern dance company.

The nearly one-and-a-half-hour wonderful performances of "The Predetermined Darkness", "October", "Waiting Alone" and "Traveling on the Sand" showed everyone a different China. The founder of the dance company, Mr. Cao Chengyuan, was interviewed by a reporter from the "Sunbird" Arizona Chinese Network. He said that the purpose of "Thunder World" is to let Western friends see modern China. We are no longer like the Qing Dynasty or the Republic of China. Most of the problems we face now are the same problems that people in Western countries encounter: environmental problems, transportation problems, people getting along with each other, and communication problems. We use dance to tell everyone what Chinese people are thinking now.

This is the opening dance of the 2013 Chinese Dance Fortnight and is deeply loved by the audience. The work "Predetermined Darkness" takes the relationship between people and the relationship between people and the environment as the topic, and interprets it dramatically through the creative and movement methods of Sang Dance Theater with a very personal style. The work has toured in more than a dozen cities in five countries including China, Germany, Mexico, Poland, and Latvia, conquering audiences around the world with its strong dramatic tension and stage visual effects. As dancer Cao Chengyuan said, Chinese modern dance is even more open than Western modern dance, more daring to express, not limited to genres, and allows everyone to feel the vibrant scene of modern China. In the future, he hopes to have more exchanges and cooperation with local dance schools to cultivate more talents for modern dance.
