(News from this website) On December 18, 2014, Chairman Chen Shikui of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Council of Taiwan visited Phoenix for the first time after taking office. A grand welcome dinner for more than 300 people hosted by Arizona Taiwan Overseas Chinese Affairs Advisory Committee member Yu Wenjin and Ms. Zhang Qingling was held at Luk Fook Restaurant. Wang Ruijin, Chairman of the Taiwanese Association of Tucson, Arizona, Qiu Shunxiong, Chairman of the Chinese Federation, Huang Yulian, President of the Arizona Chapter of the World Chinese Business Women's Association, Zhang Shengyi, Chairman of the Phoenix Taiwanese Association, Deng Chaoju, senior overseas Chinese leader, David Yee, Chairman of the Overseas Chinese Federation, Huang Dingjiang of the Huang Clan Association, Gao Zhizhong, Overseas Chinese Affairs Advisory Committee, and Wu Zhaowen, Chairman of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce, all attended this event.

This is his fourth time working for the Overseas Chinese Affairs Council. The chairman affirmed the work of various associations in Arizona and Taiwan over the past year. From celebrating the "Double Ten" to helping the Overseas Chinese Affairs Committee move its offices, local associations have provided tremendous help to Taiwanese overseas compatriots. He hoped that everyone would cooperate sincerely to do a better job in overseas Chinese affairs in the future. Chen Shikui said that the Overseas Chinese Affairs Council under his leadership should mobilize the awareness of serving overseas Chinese across the United States. He gave the example of overseas Chinese searching for their deceased relatives. A compatriot who has been searched for decades has been found out after dozens of searches. With the support of Chairman Chen's team, clues were finally found and the information left by relatives was obtained. Chairman Chen told everyone that when working on overseas Chinese affairs, including the Overseas Chinese Affairs Committee, we must adhere to the awareness of serving the people, so that we can effectively provide more help to overseas Chinese.

Only three people in the world have received this honor.
