On the afternoon of Tuesday, January 23, 2018, the police in Mesa, Arizona, said that a homicide was found in the parking lot outside the suite of a hotel in east Mesa. The bodies of a man and a woman were locked in a car. The deceased were a father and daughter. The white father shot and killed his 14-year-old daughter and then committed suicide. Police said a gun was found inside the vehicle. The incident occurred outside the Country Inn and Suite hotel at the intersection of Highway 60 and Power Road.
Police investigation showed that the deceased was related to a father and daughter. The father was 67 years old and the daughter was 14 years old. Both father and daughter were American citizens. Ms. Zhou, the spouse of the white man who committed suicide, is a Chinese citizen of Guangdong origin.
Ms. Zhou has sought assistance from the Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles. The Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles attaches great importance to it, and together with the consular protection liaison officer of the local Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles in Phoenix and the relevant person in charge of the Arizona Chinese Association (ACA), provided assistance to Ms. Zhou.
