Recent activities of the Confucius Institute: Students who choose courses can get credits when applying to some universities. According to Xu Zhiping of the Confucius Institute, the Confucius Institute at Arizona State University will have four Chinese lectures in April and two teacher studios in May. Three more Confucius Classrooms will be added in Anthem in May. The opening ceremony of the Confucius Classroom is planned to be held in early May. Confucius Classroom is a subject for primary and secondary school students to learn Chinese and Chinese culture. Students in this subject can receive credits when applying to some universities. From June 5th to 19th, Arizona State University will hold a Chinese summer camp on the Tempe campus for fifteen days. This summer camp is for beginner or intermediate Chinese language learners in grades 9 to 13.
