Sunshine always comes after the storm. Watch the Arizona Chinese Federation election. Contributed by Liushan. On May 22, in the Arizona Chinese Federation election, Tao came, and so did Yang. This was the first time that the two met at a meeting organized by the Chinese Federation since Yang established the "new board of directors" on January 16, 2011. It was a news hot spot in itself. The turmoil in Hualian that started in January really made many people say something that made us feel very ashamed: "Chinese people just love fighting among themselves." Hualian really made many people laugh. Kill without mercy. It is estimated that the grudge between Tao and Yang is that they have been together for three days and three nights, and they can't tell the difference. The others can't tell the difference even if they want to. It is impossible for one party to be completely right and the other party to be completely wrong in anything. Everyone uses what they are right to say what the other person is wrong about, and there is no end point no matter how you say it. The author doesn’t know either side well, and I don’t want to distinguish who is right and who is wrong, but I definitely side with Tao with a clear-cut stance. Because Yang, no matter how much he has done for the Chinese, no matter how much credit and hard work he has done, he committed the crime of "killing without mercy" in this matter. There is no rule without rules. As an organization, how can Hualian establish a new board of directors with just a few people? This is a true usurpation of rights. Even if Tao did 10,000 things that were sorry for Hualian, he should be punished according to Hualian's charter or impeached, not to mention he didn't. If you want to say that what he did was not good and others did better, then his authority must be limited through the charter. If there is a problem with the charter and it cannot be done, then the first thing Yang has to do is to get people to amend the charter, and then achieve the purpose of limiting authority or removing him. Yang, or Yang's friends, should reflect and understand the rules of the game before playing the game. There are also those who are trying to mediate conflicts and ask both parties to sit down and talk. Have you ever thought that this is a negotiation that cannot be given any chance? If anyone has opinions or differences, can they come and negotiate terms with the elected chairman? After making exceptions for a while, this charter could no longer stand. This is an unpardonable crime and there is no room for maneuver. Just like the negotiations between China and Taiwan, anything can be discussed, but the prerequisite is one China. Without this prerequisite, nothing can be discussed. Xue Wuya Yang is the founder of Hualian. We have long heard about the efforts and financial resources he has devoted to Hualian. He has also participated in the activities organized by him, but not many, such as the Wenchuan earthquake relief performance. It was the most gathering of Chinese elites in Phoenix City that I have seen, and it was very successful. In 2011, the new ambassador of the Consulate General in Los Angeles came to Phoenix to visit overseas Chinese, and he was also the first person to sit next to the Consul General. The old overseas Chinese were furious because there were indeed very senior representatives of the Chinese community present. I have to admit at this point, Yang can do this because of his ability. "What does this mean? What does it mean? Hualian needs people who are willing to spend time and work hard for the Chinese people. Everything else is empty." A director of Hualian once expressed this view. This is wrong! As volunteers or ordinary Hualian members, it is our duty to work hard, but as the leader of Hualian, it is a big problem to take such a view as our own responsibility. Hualian is a non-profit organization, but how can we live without money? The directors of Hualian are parents, and they should be like Yang, mobilizing various abilities and building various relationships to ask for money (this is a basic skill if you want to be a good overseas Chinese leader), such as finding the Chinese government, local businessmen, etc. There are many people who work hard. The directors of Hualian should develop all their abilities to generate income (representatives of Chinese schools and ASU student unions are not included), create the best conditions for volunteers to do their jobs well, and organize activities well. Winning the hearts of the people On April 9 and 10, 2011, the Los Angeles Embassy went to Phoenix to apply for passports, causing an uproar among the local Chinese. In previous years, the local Hualian assisted in applying for a passport, and there was no handling fee. This year, in addition to the $60 fee for applying for a passport, there is a handling fee plus postage of $80. Many Chinese friends cannot accept such charges. So the Consulate General chose a Hawaii travel agency to handle this business this time, but has no contact with local overseas Chinese agencies and travel agencies. Doesn't this have anything to do with the problems within Hualian? When the interests of the Chinese are really harmed, where are the groups representing the interests of the Chinese? When solving the internal problems of the Hualian, some people repeatedly emphasized that the representativeness of the Hualian is not strong, because there are only a few dozen members of the Hualian. How can it represent the nearly 100,000 Chinese people in Arizona? What does Hualian rely on to achieve its representativeness? It can't be obtained by doing propaganda. It can only be obtained by standing up to help everyone solve practical problems and winning the hearts and minds of the people when the interests of the Chinese people are harmed. To enhance the so-called representativeness of Hualian, it cannot be solved by Yang, Tao or Fei. It must pass the test of time and practice. It is the goal that Hualian has worked hard for generation after generation. The clarified internal conflicts of Hualian and changing passports are all crisis issues, and they are also the key to truly testing a mature society. Those who can use these events will rise to the top, and those who cannot will fall. Every Chinese has a clear mirror in their hearts, and the democratic process is also established in this way. Hualian is on the road again, not afraid of being ridiculed by others. As long as Hualian people can learn something from these incidents, the fight will not be in vain. Those who win the hearts of the people win the world. I hope that the four-year-old Hualian will learn to grow.
