Nine groups jointly held a Mid-Autumn Festival Gala [Alberta Times] The annual traditional Mid-Autumn festival is approaching. The moon is full and people are round, and overseas Chinese celebrate this festival in their own unique ways. This year, groups such as the Phoenix Kaiping Association of Alberta, the US-China Cultural Exchange Association, the Alberta PEN Club, the Alberta Writers Association, the Alberta Times, the Asia-American Newspaper, the Tsinghua Alumni Association, the Sichuan and Chongqing Association, and the Fengcheng Restaurant are preparing to jointly host the gala, and welcome Fengcheng community groups to join the party (registration is required before August 8). At noon on July 31st, representatives of these nine groups held a preparatory meeting at Fengcheng Restaurant, and unanimously expressed: They will voluntarily contribute their efforts, sponsor a share of funds, and work together to make this event a great event. They will gather together with a moon cake and a pot of tea, sing and dance, talk about their love, and celebrate a warm festival under the melting moonlight. The meeting decided that the event will be held at Fengcheng Restaurant (2075. N Dobson Rd.) from 6:30 to 9:30 pm on September 10 (Saturday). The program that night included: admiring the moon and tasting moon cakes, wonderful artistic performances, exquisite dinners, lucky draws, and finally a social dance. There was also a division of labor at the meeting. Kaiping Association presidents Zhen Shuoqin, Guan Zongren, Guan Zhaofeng and consultants Hu Shoubai and Wang Weiting showed their love and paid for mooncakes for the participants to taste together. Honorary President Guan Zongren also donated a batch of silver coins for the lottery. Guan Zhaofeng and Fengcheng proprietor He Guisen proposed that more gifts should be organized so that all overseas Chinese could win prizes. Gu Yayu, Li Cheng, and Chen Zhigang from the U.S.-China Cultural Exchange Association and the Sichuan-Chongqing Association were responsible for rehearsing exciting entertainment programs on the spot. People from the same hometown who love dancing work together to organize social dances. He Gongbai, owner of Fengcheng Restaurant, said that he has prepared a timely and exquisite summer recipe for the overseas Chinese participating in the event to enjoy. This Mid-Autumn Festival dinner costs 20 yuan per person. Each group participating in the organization will give each person a subsidy of 5 yuan, and each person will only pay 15 yuan. Those who are interested in participating can sign up with their own group. Those who have not yet belonged to a group are welcome to join on the spot. You can also register as an individual at Fengcheng Restaurant (pay the fee yourself). The deadline is August 25th. Due to limited seating in the restaurant, please register as soon as possible.
