The overseas Chinese community in Phoenix, USA, will hold two China National Day celebrations (pictures) The Chinese Overseas Chinese Federation of Arizona, USA, will hold two China National Day celebrations in conjunction with the Confucius Institute at Arizona State University to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Among them, the "Phoenix Night" reception to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival, will be held grandly at Arizona State University on September 18, 2011. The local traditional overseas Chinese community in Phoenix City, the Greater Phoenix Chinese Overseas Chinese Association (CUAGP) will participate in co-organizing the event. In order to prepare for this event, Fei Jian, president of the Arizona Overseas Chinese Federation, convened the first preparatory meeting on July 24. More than 20 representatives from all walks of life participated in the preparatory meeting. It was jointly agreed that the overseas Chinese community in Arizona will hold a series of related celebration activities, including: Sino-US Cultural Forum, National Day Reception, Mid-Autumn Festival Dance, and Youth Painting Exhibition. The Confucius Institute in Arizona is currently holding a painting competition from kindergarten to twelfth grade. The competition will give Arizona youths of all ethnic groups an opportunity to use creative thinking to represent China. The winning works will be displayed at the China National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival reception in Arizona on September 18th. ?#20013;American Culture Forum?#23558;Invited three heavyweight guests with the theme of?#22312;Cooperation with China in the Global Market?#20026;to bring friends in Phoenix their real experiences of the similarities and differences between Chinese and American cultures. This series of activities to celebrate China's National Day is one of the large-scale events held by the Phoenix overseas Chinese community for many years since the establishment of the Arizona Overseas Chinese Federation. President Fei Jian said that he would unite all Chinese forces to bring a happy and united National Day to the local Chinese. The newly established Arizona Overseas Chinese Association at the end of May 2011 recently announced that it will hold another China National Day celebration in Phoenix, and preparations are currently underway.
