What you need to know about social welfare Cao Jiayi Recently, my daughter who is a doctor in the hospital told me that she heard in the hospital that there will be changes in the state government's medical benefits. At the same time, some readers and friends called to ask about this. The results of my inquiry are as follows: AHCCCS has two benefits, MED and AHCCCS CARE. Due to the state government's funding freeze, these two benefits have been temporarily suspended. MED is an insurance approved by DES for those whose income exceeds the general AHCCCS income standard but whose medical expenses are too high due to temporary illness and hospitalization. The benefits of this insurance will be discontinued on October 1. AHCCCS CARE is a medical benefit for some low-income people who are not eligible for general AHCCCS applicants, such as single adults, those who are not eligible under the age limit of 65 years old, are not disabled, are not pregnant, and are not single parents. This benefit has been frozen on July 8th. AHCCCS will convert some elderly people (those over 65 years old or those under 65 years old with disabilities) to SSIMAO insurance, and this insurance will not be frozen. DES will give you three letters before ending your benefits; 1. Tell you how to continue applying sixty days before your insurance expires. 2. If you do not complete the required procedures, the date on which your benefits will cease. 3. DES will send this letter on the 25th of the month to tell you that you have the last chance to submit the application form to DES. Therefore, if you have friends with any of the above benefits, you must try your best to complete the medical insurance benefits that you continue to qualify for.
