The "Phoenix Night" Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day appreciation dinner was held at the Blue Sky Restaurant on the evening of October 15th. Fei Jian, President of the Overseas Chinese Federation of Arizona (Hualian), and 12 volunteers participated. For a year, the volunteers have been working together to solve problems. On this day, they were finally able to chat and laugh. Fei Jian said that he was very grateful for everyone’s support, as well as those friends who did not have time to attend the thank-you dinner. The “Phoenix Night” event was so successful, and he invited the guests to toast to celebrate the success of the “Phoenix Night”. There was only one thing that was most talked about and that was the future development of Hualian. President Fei Jian first identified several things that could be done for the Chinese community. Volunteer Li Jun proposed the future development of Hualian. Confucius Institute representatives Xu Zhiping and Tang Guoming used the growth process of the Confucius Institute to talk about how to combine the long-term planning with the current things. At the dinner, Li Jian took on the responsibility of recording. Former Vice President Liao Feng said that the purpose of Hualian is to promote Chinese culture, protect the interests of the Chinese, and improve the status of the Chinese. The volunteers present, Li Jun, Tao Shicheng, Lin Xin, Wang Xinxin, Wang Yang, and Rong Qinjin, suggested specific activities that Hualian can do in the future, and how to use existing manpower, material resources, and financial resources to gradually achieve the intended purpose. For example, the promotion of Chinese culture can be achieved through the "Phoenix Night" Mid-Autumn Festival National Day activities and the traditional activities of the Spring Festival to improve the status of the Chinese. Hualian encourages Chinese to participate in politics and try to create activities such as political participation and election lectures and debates for Chinese people. Through these activities, everyone will be aware of political participation and expand the voice of the Chinese. In terms of protecting the interests of the Chinese, we will do our best to provide services that are convenient for the Chinese, including visa and other issues. One volunteer joked: "I waited for a year and originally planned to have a good meal, but I didn't expect to kill so many brain cells..." Seeing these happy and "self-abuse" volunteers, I believe that Hualian's tomorrow will be better!
