Contributed by Li Linglin The exhibition of Taiwanese science and technology pictures and Taiwanese customs pictures provided by the Los Angeles Economic and Cultural Office News Team held a grand and successful opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on April 2 in the Historic Senate Room of the Arizona State Museum. Li Dadai, leader of the Los Angeles Economic and Cultural Office News Team, came from Los Angeles to preside over the opening. Gao Jiafu, director of the Orange County Cultural and Educational Center of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Council, was also present to congratulate, Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett, and State Assemblyman Kimberly Yee, Phoenix City Councilmember Thelda Williams, Arizona State Government Museum Director Joan Clark, Phoenix School District 1 Superintendent Myriam Roa, Magnet Traditional School Principal Adrian Walker and many teachers led 75 students to participate, Phoenix Sisterhood Deputy Director Rick Gerrard, President of the Alberta Times Zhen Shuoqin, President of the American Western Newspaper, Gao Zhizhong, Overseas Chinese Affairs Advisory Committee Member of the Republic of China, Taiwanese Overseas Chinese Leader Zhang Qingling, Chairman of the Taiwan Beauty Tradition State, President of the Taiwanese Association of Arizona Wang Ruijin, Shihua Han Yuhua, president of the Business Women's Association, Wan Peijie, president of the Taiwanese Association of Phoenix City, Qiu Shunxiong, president of the Chinese Association, Zhou Qionghua, representative of the overseas Chinese community, and representatives of Taipei sister cities Li Meilin, Barbra Yang, and friend Aurore from France and Romand and many others participated in the grand event. The opening ceremony was hosted by Miss Arizona Laetitia Hua as the emcee. Qiu Wenqi introduced the guests. Li Linglin, Chairman of the Taipei Sister City Committee of the Phoenix City Sisters Association, gave the opening speech. Director Li Chuan of the News Group gave the welcome speech. State Secretary Ken Bennett, State Assemblymember Kimberly Yee, Museum Director Joan Clark, Phoenix City Assemblymember Thelda Williams, Superintendent Myriam Roa delivered a congratulatory speech, and all distinguished guests cut the ribbon together. During the ceremony, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer and Arizona Senate President Steve Pierce sent special congratulatory letters to Director Li Dachuan and organizer Li Linglin. The opening ceremony was grand and lively and a complete success. After the opening ceremony, Director Gao Jiafu of the Orange County Cultural and Educational Center presented more than 100 sets of Chinese books to the Phoenix School District No. 1 library, and presented 1,000 Chinese words to the participating mainstream guests. At the same time, medals were awarded to the 75 American mainstream students who won the I Love Taiwan Drawing Competition and school bags were given to three outstanding students. The Taiwan Science and Technology Pictures and Taiwan Customs Pictures Exhibition is co-sponsored by the Taipei Sister City Committee of the Phoenix Sisterhood, the Chinese Language Institute of Alberta, and the Los Angeles Economic and Cultural Office News Group. The Taiwan Science and Technology Pictures introduce Taiwan's advanced and high-tech technologies to super-international standards and are in line with the world. The Taiwan Customs Pictures promote Taiwanese culture and folk art, and promote multicultural exchanges. The exhibition period is from April 1 to April. It will be on display on the third floor of the Arizona Museum on the 15th, on May 16th, 17th, and 18th at the Phoenix Technology and Economic and Trade Exhibition Center, on the first floor of the Phoenix City Hall from June 1st to June 15th, and on the second floor of the Phoenix Central Library from July 1st to July 31st.
