The lecture "The History and Current Situation of Internet Literature" was successfully held (Photo) Our reporter Xie Chengyan reported that at 7 pm on April 14, in order to enrich the cultural life of Chinese people in Alberta, the Chinese PEN Association of Alberta, the Chinese Writers Association of Alberta, the "Alberta Times", "Sunbird" Arizona Chinese Network and New Oriental Art School jointly held the lecture "The History and Current Situation of Internet Literature". The lecture was delivered by Dr. Shaojun, a well-known Internet writer. Zhang Huafang, president of the Alberta Times and chairman of the Federation of Chinese Overseas Chinese in Greater Phoenix (Overseas Chinese Federation), Wang Wei and Wang Ting of the Arizona branch of the Kuomintang, Lu Lihua, principal of the New Oriental Art School, and Tan Weiwei, representative of the "Sunbird" Arizona Chinese Network, attended this event. Nearly forty listeners came to the lecture, and there was active interaction on and off the stage. The guests not only learned about the history of online literature, but also exchanged views on current hot issues in online literature. On the evening of April 14, Internet writer Shaojun made preparations early at the New Oriental Art School. The day of the symposium was the funeral of Fang Lizhi, a leader in the field of astrophysics research. Shaojun began the symposium by telling how Fang Lizhi’s wife, Li Shuxian, was his teacher when he was a student at Beijing University. In the late 1980s, when the Chinese student movement was surging and Internet technology was on the rise, overseas students at that time were trying hard to understand the domestic situation through the Internet. The earliest Chinese literary and artistic works appeared on the Internet in 1987. In 1989, the first worldwide Chinese online literary and artistic work was born called "Hua Xia Digest". It is one of the earliest independent overseas Chinese-language media outlets on the Internet. Founded on March 6, 1989 by overseas Chinese students Liang Luping, Zhu Ruopeng, Xiong Bo, Zou Ziye and others, it was called the "News Digest" (NEWS DIGEST) computer network at the time and was distributed to international students in the form of a listserv. Teacher Shaojun introduced that the characteristic of online literature is venting. He humorously said that he writes because there are no opportunities for Chinese communication overseas, so he can only write online. With such an equal communication platform, online literature has become more diverse and diverse, and everyone who uses the Internet has the opportunity to express themselves. Many online writers and writers stand out and occupy important positions in the literary world. For example, Shaojun, the first Internet writer, as well as Tuya, Si Jing, Adai, Mu Zimei, Han Han, etc. Teacher Shaojun is one of the founders of online literature. He also introduced us to relatively early online media, such as "New Threads", "Olive Tree" and "Under the Banyan Tree". The Internet is a highly participatory media. Because of this, the piracy problem faced by the Internet is also quite serious. Compared with traditional media, many online piracy is planned and planned hype, or "alternative management." Teacher Shaojun said that the copyright issue of online literature will be the biggest problem faced by online literature. During the symposium, someone brought up the dispute between Fang Zhouzi and Han Han during the Spring Festival on the issue of copyright. Everyone expressed their opinions and it was very lively. The principal of New Oriental Art School, Lu Lihua, and the teachers also prepared some snacks to entertain everyone. The guests all expressed their gratitude and looked forward to the next lecture.
