(Principal of Feini Chinese School Cui Zengqi) One day in mid-March, on behalf of the school, I accepted a very precious gift. The children handed me a plastic box containing five yuan and eighty cents and a letter saying that it was given to the school by four of their students. I asked the children's parents and they didn't know. Now I find out that the four children, eight-year-old Fedora, seven-year-old Latisha, six-year-old Lawrence, and five-year-old Lucas, were on spring break at school. I thought of making some small gifts, selling them on the street, and donating the money from the sales to the school. The children's creativity is so fresh, simple and touching. I am sending the children's letters and a parent's posthumous note to you for publication. I hope everyone can share this true feeling.
Parent’s Memories Jason Zhong
The past two weeks, it was my children’s spring break. One day, we left our children to play at our neighbor's Aunt Rong's house. We were having dinner at Aunt Rong's house in the evening, and suddenly we heard a child shouting "Bracelace for sale" on the street. We were about to open the door to see what was going on. There was a small table placed in front of the garage. Lawrence and Lucas were running back and forth, shouting "Braccelace for sale". Fedora and Latisha stood in front of the table and shouted loudly. Seeing that we were about to come out, they quickly ran over to stop us, preventing us from seeing their secret operations.
Aunt Rong told us that when they were playing together that day, she decided to make some simple Braccelace by herself and try to sell it on the street. I applauded loudly. Unexpectedly, my long-awaited wish for my children to be more active came to fruition without any effort. In the next few days, they kept hawking on the street and took the initiative to knock on neighbors' doors to sell, and actually made a few dollars. What’s even more interesting is that they donated all the money to Feinian Chinese School and were praised by the principal with a handshake. Through this experience, they learned how to build their own business and personally experienced the joy of harvesting and donating to society.
