(Zhang Zhaohong reported) On the evening of May 12th, the Phoenix Chinese Bowling Competition held its finals. After many rounds of competition, the Alberta Chinese Restaurant Association Luk Fu team won the 2014 team championship, and Shanghai Grill won the runner-up. On May 19, the competition award ceremony was held at the Red Pot Restaurant. Bowling is a sport in which the ball holder rolls the ball toward ten pins on the lane. As early as 7200 BC, archaeologists discovered nine pins and a stone ball in an ancient Egyptian tomb, so it is believed that there may have been a sport similar to bowling at that time. The modern fairway is 19.15 meters long. The weight of a bowling ball is up to 16 pounds. You can choose the weight according to your preference, usually 8 to 16 pounds. The scoring unit of the game is a round, with ten scoring grids in each round. There are a maximum of two pitches per scoring box. If you fail to knock down all the pins the first time, you can shoot a second time. Hitting 12 consecutive hits in a single game is 300 points. Phoenix Chinese Bowling has a total of 7 teams this year, and each team goes to the bowling alley every Monday night to train or compete, year after year. From September last year to May this year, the teams competed on the battlefield. Each team has several players, using wheel tactics, and take turns rolling the ball to knock down the pins. Players pick up the bowling ball with three fingers and use waist, arm, hand and finger strength to throw the ball at the target. The bowling ball will either spin forward or knock down the pin in a roundabout way. Each team chases after each other and measures each other. At the end of the game, points will be used to determine the ranking. This year, the Luk Fook team won the annual team championship. The team members include Brian McCoy, Rogelio Cedillo, and Roberto Lopez. Shanghai Grill won the second place. Edward Ong hit all 12 shots in a single game and was presented with a diamond ring by the United States Bowling Association. Tony Diep, Mandy Ong, Larry Eng, and Johnny Mo were presented with trophies.
