As an important part of the series of activities to celebrate China's National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival, the Confucius Institute at Arizona State University will hold a ceremony at Memorial Union Turquoise on the Tempe campus from 1:30-3:00 pm on September 21st. Ballroom hosts the 6th China Forum. The theme of this forum is "Cooperation with China in the Global Market." The forum will promote dialogue among the Chinese community, business leaders, government dignitaries, and the public. The forum focuses on the global economy, the growing importance of China, and innovation in science and technology. Sun Lushan, Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Los Angeles, will be on hand to deliver a wonderful speech. Joe Cutter, Director of the Confucius Institute and International Letters and Culture Institute, said, "The China Forum provides students and community members with a unique opportunity to hear first-hand experiences of those who are personally involved in investing in China. This year's forum will provide the audience with lively, interesting, and very valuable insights and experiences on doing business in China." In addition to the main speaker, this forum will also have three special guests, they are Jeff Wu, executive vice president and marketing director of Pactera Technology International. His speech was "The Path of Globalization - The Story of Pactera". Mr. Wu said that if the largest developed countries and the largest developing countries work together, the future challenge is successful management. Although we have different views and beliefs on some issues, in many areas we are a win-win. One of the best ways is technological innovation and cooperation. Daniel Shum, deputy president of Najafi, will give a speech on "China's Opportunities: Cultural Products and Media Industry." Randal Schulhauser, senior product manager of Medtronic, will bring you the history and future plans of Medtronic's development in China. Medtronic has had business in China for 25 years. Randal Schulhauser said that we understand that this is a very active market, and its demand is very large and very challenging. Adapting to fast-paced changes, different and diverse regulations, and understanding the needs of customers, including doctors and patients, are the keys to Medtronic's success. There will also be a photography exhibition titled "Beautiful Arizona" during this event, and the Confucius Institute held a youth poster design and photography competition. The winning works will be displayed on site. This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required and seating is limited.
