The poster design competition is open to students in grades 1-6, and the photography competition is open to students in grades 7-12. The Confucius Institute received a total of more than 160 poster works and more than 150 photos from various schools in Arizona. Many American students participated in the "Arizona Through My Eyes" photography competition, using their cameras to show their love for this southwest desert.

All award-winning poster design works and photography works will be displayed in the MU Arizona Ballroom. The audience lingered in front of the children's artistic crystallization

On September 21st, all the winning works were displayed in the MU building of ASU, and there was a grand awards ceremony. On the same day, the award-winning young artists, led by their parents and accompanied by the chamber string orchestra, attended the exhibition of winning works and the award ceremony in their best attire. Many families attach great importance to this event, and whole families, old and young, come out to attend. About 500 people visited the exhibition and attended the award ceremony. This poster design competition received more than 160 entries from students in grades 1-6. According to the different grades of the students, the entries were divided into two groups for evaluation, namely grades 1-3 and grades 4-6. The judges will select the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes from each grade, as well as the outstanding work award. The judges were deeply impressed by the more than 160 entries. The judges marveled at the imagination, creativity and ability of these young artists to grasp the details of their paintings. Although the children in grades K-2 are young, their drawing skills are not inferior to those of senior students at all. The first-prize winning work of this group was "Lantern Festival" by Iris Wang, in which the vermilion lanterns are scattered in an orderly manner, showing the festive atmosphere of traditional Chinese festivals; the second-prize winning work of this group was "The Impressions of Beijing" by Lian Smith; "The Face of China" by Mcartney Weisenss and "Rainbow Dragon" by Lena Zhang tied for third place in this group. The works of students in grades 4-6 were more delicate. They incorporated various elements into their works. The group's first-prize winning work "ATeamwork Race" was created by Konrad Yuan. The characters in the painting worked together and united as one to move all the judges and the audience; Isabel Qin's second-prize winning work "Lazy Panda" 》 worked hard on the details, expressing the lazy and indifferent mood of the panda vividly and exquisitely; and the second prize work "Rounded House in Southern China" by Grace Zhang perfectly integrated the Tianluokeng Tulou cluster in the Fujian Tulou into a small space, making people marvel at its ingenious structure and grand scale; and the third prize winner was Davina Chen's "Playing in the Garden".

This competition received a total of more than 150 entries. The students' footprints are all over the mountains and rivers of Arizona, reflecting Arizona's unique natural features and native beauty. The judges felt that the students’ work conveyed a rich range of scenes. Their descriptions of the photos reveal their love for the land beneath their feet. The first prize-winning work of the 7th to 9th grade group was "Noir Walking Cactus", taken by Harrison Kessel. In the black and white photo, a huge and towering cactus has limbs like a human being, giving it the feeling of a desert walk; the second prize was Abhinav Kolli's "The Towers"; the third prizes were Lucy Song's "The Determined Tree" and Ana Rousu's "Cherry Sunset". The first prize-winning work of the 10-12 senior group, "Arizona's Natural Wonder," was shot by Jared Briones. In addition to the above first, second and third prizes, the judges also awarded more than 50 outstanding works awards in poster design competitions and photography competitions.
