On October 21, Asian American community leaders attended a fundraising dinner for the re-election campaign of Chinese-American Senator Yu Yanfen of Arizona at Luk Fook Restaurant. The theme of this fundraising dinner is patriotism. American veteran Thomas Deng held a flag-passing ceremony, and Beverly Wu. led everyone in singing the national anthem, kicking off the fundraising dinner. Jack Yu, Yu Yanfen’s father, hosted the event. He briefly introduced himself as a descendant of Chinese immigrants and how proud he was to be born in the United States. He emphasized that the United States is a very special country that provides opportunities for success for people who are full of work enthusiasm and have excellent educational backgrounds. Anyone can realize their American dream as long as they work hard.

Yu Yanfen traveled with him to Washington earlier this year, and her work has been widely recognized, with Republican officials announcing that she will continue to play an important role in shaping the party's future. Arizona Senate President Andy Biggs holds an undergraduate degree in Asian Studies and a law degree from the University of Arizona.
