Chairman Chen Xiubo and vice-chairmen Yin Fengying and Yu Fuqiang of the Senior Citizens Association delivered welcome speeches. While enjoying the delicious food, everyone also enjoyed the program written, directed and performed by the senior citizens of the Senior Citizens Association. Mandarin and Cantonese choruses, song and dance performances, cheongsam catwalks, etc. all appeared on stage. It was a wonderful event and received bursts of applause and cheers. Although many actors are over seventy years old, they are all full of energy and confidence; festive costumes and sweet smiles fill the entire stage. They can see the charming style of the elderly that has accumulated over the years, becoming "the most beautiful sunset red". During the period, awards were presented to outstanding service personnel Daodekun, Yin Fengying, Yu Fuqiang, Zeng Liqing, Tan Yuying, Li Yicheng, Chen Shirley, Li Guoyi, Alicia Toko, and thanked them (her) for their selfless contributions to the Senior Citizens Association. In addition to the US$1,000 scholarship sponsored by the Phoenix Chinese Seniors Association, special thanks go to the Deng Guangzhao family for their perseverance over the past 20 years in sponsoring the US$1,000 scholarship each year. Chairman Chen Xiubo, Director Pei Xiayun, Professor Wang Yong and Professor Sun Fei awarded scholarships to four outstanding recent high school graduates Chen Meiheng (first prize), Wang Yuan (second prize), Huang Xueying (third prize), and Maria Dong (nomination prize), encouraging them to achieve success in their studies and better serve the society in the future. There was also a raffle held during the banquet, and many guests won generous prizes.

The elderly people lit up the stage with their passion. The beautiful songs and graceful dance steps expressed their blessings for the New Year and their best wishes for life, showing everyone the new outlook of the elderly people who are enterprising, healthy and progressive.
