(Contributed by the Arizona Branch of the Chinese Kuomintang) In the 2016 presidential and legislative elections of the Republic of China, the Kuomintang suffered a disastrous defeat. Not only did it lose power, it also lost less than one-third of the seats in Congress, making it unable to supervise and balance the actions of the ruling party. The Democratic Progressive Party is fully in power, taking advantage of its numerical advantage, and hastily passed the "Improper Party Property Regulations" and established the "Improper Party Property Committee", under the guise of transformational justice, but in fact it is unfair, liquidation struggle, hunting down the Kuomintang, and trying to eliminate the Republic of China. The democratic rule of law established over many years has also been destroyed. The Party Property Ordinance is based on the presumption of guilt and retroactivity, and combines the three powers of legislation, judiciary and administration. Under the manipulation of the DPP, it is an individual clause targeting the Kuomintang and is completely illegal and unconstitutional. Forcibly freezing the accounts of the Kuomintang and forcing party affairs to run into difficulties is the first step in putting the Kuomintang to death. How can our comrades surrender? We should work hard to deal with it, be selfless and fearless, just as party chairman Hong Xiuzhu said: "We must protect this party even if we risk our lives." On October 22, the Party Central Committee launched two activities: "Special Party Dues" and "Thousand Yuan Donation". One is to solve the current financial crisis of the Kuomintang, and the other is to raise long-term funds to save the nation and defend the constitutional government of the Republic of China. "'Special Party Dues'" is a one-time event to urge party members to pay NT$2,000 from October 25 to December 25 this year. Party members who pay will receive a "replica" of the Chinese Revolutionary Party membership card as a lifelong souvenir. The "Thousand Yuan Donation" raises funds to protect the constitutional government of the Republic of China and raises funds from party members and the general public. There is no deadline for donations. The format of the donation coupons to be issued is based on the replica of the "Rate Voucher" issued by the founding father Sun Yat-sen in the year before the Republic of China, arousing revolutionary sentiments and participating in the grand event. On October 24, Party Chairman Hong Xiuzhu led the first-level supervisors of the Central Party Department, county and city party committees, and Huang Fuxing Party Committee Chairman to set an example and jointly paid a special party dues of 2,000 yuan. Hong Xiuzhu took the lead and paid the first 200,000 yuan. The first "Thousand Yuan Donation" meeting was also held in Zhonghe, New Taipei City on the same day. A large-scale speech was held to raise funds. About 5,000 to 6,000 people attended the meeting, and donations were enthusiastic. Liu Yiliang, a 60-year old party member, former legislator and national policy adviser, donated 1 million yuan on his behalf, setting the current highest "thousand yuan donation" amount. The venue was filled with cheers and excitement. That night, Ma Ying-jeou invited 16 important cadres from previous positions to a banquet to discuss party plans and raise 2 million yuan in donations. The fire has been ignited, and I hope it will flourish from now on.

At this time of crisis, we sincerely hope that comrades of our party, based on their feelings for the Republic of China and the current situation of the Kuomintang, will pledge donations based on their own financial capabilities. Our party will save itself, no one else. The "Thousand Yuan Donation" activity is a political donation and is also open to the public. We hope that the wise members of society will know that all party members can help the Kuomintang. If you would like to donate, please postal transfer to the Chinese Kuomintang political donation account number #19839620, inquiry hotline: (02) 21731234. Thank you to every party member and friend who supports the Kuomintang of China!
