(Contributed by the Save the China Cultural Center Organizing Committee) At the end of July 2017, the current new owner of the Phoenix Chinese Cultural Center announced that it will renovate the center, remove all Chinese elements and demolish the harmony garden.
Starting in August this year, Chinese people in Phoenix voluntarily launched an activity to save the Chinese Cultural Center, preserving this Phoenix landmark building for our future generations and for the state of Arizona. The fearless spirit of the local Chinese people is commendable.
The organizing committee is trying to discuss the repurchase of the China Cultural Center with the new owner as soon as possible. From the beginning the organizing committee promised that if the price was fair, funding for the purchase would not be a problem.
In order to cooperate with the repurchase, we hereby issue an announcement to the entire community to allow all those who are interested in purchasing this project to participate in order to avoid causing opacity in this repurchase. Investors (individuals, companies, and associations) who are interested in participating in the buyback please contact Tinna Xie at 480-287-0180 or email tinna@platinumaz.com.
AN INVITATION TO OUR COMMUNITY October 10, 2017 PRESENT SITUATION The new ownership of the Phoenix Chinese Cultural Center threatens to destroy the site, to expel all Chinese from it, and even to demolish the Garden of Harmony. This was announced in late July 2017.
Since that time, the whole Chinese community both locally, and even nationally and with global support, has arisen in unity with tremendous diligence and volunteer effort to defend our culture, and preserve this precious, irreplaceable landmark site for all of us today, and for all future posterity not only Chinese but all Arizonans and Americans. The endless energy and the undaunted courage of all has been truly inspiring.
NEXT STEP Our Next Step would keep the community focus throughout. The leaders of our local Chinese community hope soon to begin negotiations with the new owner for the purchase of this site. All along, our community leaders have received, without any formal request, many assurances that major financial resources will be readily available for assuring a quick purchase ONLY at a fair price.
For the purchase transaction, this Invitation to our Community is being offered so that all who wish to participate in a large transitional investment can do so?it is not the intention of the Chinese community leadership that this purchase transaction might be viewed as done by a closed group.
To explore the likely complex possibilities, any interested persons or corporations should contact Ms. Tinna Xie either by telephone480.287.0180 or tinna@platinumaz.com.
