Local families

Audiences expressed that the ninth "Alberta Spring Festival Gala" held at the Mesa Arts Center on January 6 was the most exciting in nine years.

The organizers, the Art Institute of Alberta and the US-China Cultural Education Foundation, sincerely invite local Chinese art elites, and also invite the famous Chenlong Acrobatic Troupe to China. They combined Chinese folk dance and traditional Chinese acrobatics to bring a grand cultural feast to Chinese and American friends present. "Strength", "Umbrella Pushing", "Laser Dance", etc., from China Chenlong Acrobatic Troupe, showed the strength, flexibility and balance of the human body to the limit, and received bursts of cheers from the audience. Dances such as "Ode to Lotus", "Plucking Weiwei" and "Celestial Bath" by the Alberta School of the Arts vividly express the charm and softness of Oriental women. Ansai waist drums, red lanterns, and Chinese folk symbols made the whole place lively, heralding a prosperous and abundant harvest in the new year. The modern Chinese school's chorus "Celebrate the New Year with Joy" made the audience feel like they were dreaming of returning to their homeland and were moved to tears.

At first, the Spring Festival Gala was just an annual small gathering of Chinese friends. With the continuous promotion of this event, nearly 200 performers participate in the performance every year. In addition to local Chinese performing artists and literary enthusiasts, this year two public schools and an American dance troupe also joined the show. The traditional Chinese festival has also become a big gathering of people of all ethnic groups in the United States, and the theater with a capacity of 1,500 people was packed. Deputy Consul General Dai Shuangming from the Consulate General in Los Angeles, Consul Tang Chang'an, leader of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Section, senior overseas Chinese leader Yu Wenjin, Chairman of the Overseas Chinese Federation of Alberta Li Jian, Chandler City Councilor Huang Xinmin, overseas Chinese leaders Qiu Shunxiong and his wife, overseas Chinese leaders Zhang Huafang and Xu Aini attended the party.

Every Chinese Spring Festival is a great opportunity for friends from all over the United States to learn about Chinese culture together. In addition to the wonderful programs of the Spring Festival Gala, melodious traditional Chinese folk music was played from the Arizona Mesa Art Center before the performance. An exhibition of Chinese folk musical instruments is being held in the performance hall. There are many instruments such as guzheng, pipa, erhu, and flute that American friends have never seen before, but they have been played in China for thousands of years. The audience was delighted and curious.

The exhibition of traditional Chinese musical instruments is part of the Spring Festival Gala. This is also the ninth year that Arizona has hosted the Spring Festival Gala. A portion of the cost of the annual Spring Festival Gala is donated to non-profit organizations. This year's Alberta Spring Festival Gala will donate part of the tickets to the activities of protecting the Chinese Cultural Center, uniting all forces to protect overseas Chinese culture and promote Chinese culture.
