Building dreams, singing high and forging ahead (Contributed by Hope Chinese School of Alberta) On January 13, Hope Chinese School ushered in the first day of the new semester. Bathed in the warm sunshine, the students returned to the campus for internship after a short winter break. With new curiosity, excitement and longing, we welcome another special and beautiful new semester, where we can build dreams, sing, and move forward. New semester, new starting point; new journey, new hope. The volunteers came to their posts early to make preparations. Whether it was course registration or textbook sales, everything was in order. Parents could pay tuition and buy textbooks without waiting for a long time. There are many activities in the school this year, such as the Spring Festival temple fair, recitation competition, graduation ceremony, etc. The teachers in charge of each activity started planning during the holidays. Everyone worked hard to make the temple fair a prosperous event and make the graduation ceremony more exciting every year. Teaching quality is always a priority for the school. Last semester, the school paid to encourage teachers to actively participate in various online teaching trainings. Through training, many teachers have improved in teaching skills and classroom management. Improving teachers’ business skills and professional training will also be our focus. While improving the quality of teaching, the school also attaches great importance to various colorful entertainment activities. In the fall semester of 2017, in addition to previous sports meets and prize exchange activities twice each semester, the entire campus was full of surprises on the last day of the semester – Santa Claus came to every classroom, gave gifts to every child and encouraged them to learn Chinese well. The older children in the student union are enthusiastic about school activities. Two years ago, they began to raise money through charity sales to organize a "student of the month" award event every month. This event continues to this day. All parents in the school actively support various charity sales, and the effect of the older children rewarding the younger children by setting an example by their own example is very heartwarming and very convincing. "House of Hope, Home of Happiness", Hope Chinese School is a big family where you are among me and you are among me. In this big family, everyone helps each other and works together to run the school and be the inheritor of culture so that children can love Chinese culture and be proud of their cultural background.
