The preliminary round of the Los Angeles division of the Overseas Taoli Cup Dance Competition has just ended. Lulu Bi from the Art Institute of Alberta won the Platinum Award for solo dance with her Mongolian dance "The Horizon". Lulu Bi has only been studying dance for four years and has made great progress under the training of teacher Qiu Xiaorong. She has won first place and Platinum Award in the last two dance competitions respectively. Another contestant, Monet Tam, won the gold medal in classical dance with "Dance of Chu" despite being unwell, and the gold medal in the Dai ethnic dance "Daughter of the Dai Family, Rain from the Dai Family". All participating dancers have entered the finals of the 2018 International "Taoli Cup" Dance Competition.

>Judges: Wang Tong, Xu Wenqi, Pan Zhitao

The founder of this competition, the famous dancer and judge Pan Zhitao commented that "Dance of Chu" is the most unique in the selection of materials among classical dances, and the teacher has unique insights in selecting dances for the competition. Judge Wang Tong told reporters that the overall level of the contestants this year is quite high. If you want to get better results in the finals, you must focus on dancing, and all basic skills and performances must come from your inner feelings.

Dance is an art that combines beauty with movement and music. The atmosphere for learning Chinese folk dance in Arizona is quite strong. This year, the Alberta School of the Arts participated in competitions of multiple dance types, multiple age groups, and multiple divisions. From children's dance to adult dance, the Art Institute of Alberta has a complete teaching echelon, taught by many well-known local teachers, and at the same time, it continues to introduce outstanding dance teachers from outside the state to give guest lectures. This is the second time for the Alberta Academy of Arts to participate. In the last finals, Peng Tianyue won the Platinum Award, the highest solo dance award. This year's Los Angeles Division won the first game, and we look forward to more good news. I hope to achieve greater success in the finals.
