An unexpected power outage occurred at Phoenix Airport Terminal 3. An unexpected power outage occurred at Phoenix Airport Terminal 3 on Sunday afternoon, causing panic among passengers. Airport spokesperson Li Sina said the power outage occurred around 3:30 pm on Sunday, and preliminary information indicated that an old transformer failed. The power outage caused the escalators and baggage carousels to stop operating. The entire terminal was dark and passengers were in chaos. The management immediately activated emergency lights, causing three flights to be delayed for about 20 to 25 minutes. It is not clear that other arriving flights were delayed and landed. There is no statistics on how many passengers were affected. The power was restored at 5:30 p.m. During this period, ground staff of various airlines continued to reassure passengers that order was still good. Airlines operating in Terminal 3 of the Airport include: American, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, Hawaiian, and Sun Country.
