A 3.3-magnitude earthquake struck the greater Los Angeles area (Alberta Times) The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported that a 3.3-magnitude earthquake struck the greater Los Angeles area at 3:26 a.m. on the 3rd, with the epicenter in Beverly Hills. Beverly Hills police said they had received numerous calls from concerned citizens, adding that "every siren in the city was ringing loudly." However, police patrols did not see any signs of damage to the building. There were no immediate reports of injuries. Police in nearby West Los Angeles said they had not received any calls about the earthquake.
