The Supreme Court of Alberta on Tuesday concluded a murder case that occurred 25 years ago and sentenced the perpetrator to death. Donald Edward Beatty, 56, kidnapped 13-year-old Kristy Furnov in Tempe on May 9, 1984. Her body was found behind a dumpster two days later. Police said Betty, then an apartment maintenance worker, kidnapped and killed the girl. Beatty was imprisoned in 1985 and remains in prison until now. The convict is scheduled to be executed by lethal injection at Florence State Prison on May 25. Defense attorneys argued that the death penalty was inappropriate because the lethal injection was obtained illegally and did not come from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
