Snake Dance welcomes the New Year. In order to welcome the arrival of the Chinese New Year in 2013, the Year of the Snake, the Confucius Institute at the University of Arizona (CIUA) and the Tucson Huasheng Choir will once again cooperate with various community groups to jointly hold a Spring Festival Gala to celebrate the Chinese New Year at the Centennial Hall Concert Hall of the University of Arizona (U of A) on February 3. In a unique way, it will grandly and warmly kick off the celebration of the Chinese New Year for local overseas Chinese and local people in the United States. This is the sixth consecutive year that Tucson has successfully hosted a gala to celebrate the Chinese New Year. There are many Chinese associations active in the Tucson Chinese community. In addition to the Tucson Chinese Cultural Center and two Chinese schools founded in 2005, there are also a series of "Huaxia" teams with great community influence, including Huasheng Choir, Huazi Dance Troupe, Xia Lei Folk Orchestra, Huaxia Wushu Team and Huajian Tai Chi Team. Every year, the Tucson Spring Festival Gala not only has the active participation of various groups in the Chinese community, but we also invite a number of local American professional and amateur art groups to join us. At the same time, this community event continues to receive widespread attention and reports from local mainstream media, and thus attracts more and more American audiences. The celebration party that the Chinese community simply entertained itself has been sublimated into a cultural feast, a cultural feast shared by all ethnic groups in the community, truly combining amateurism with professionalism, the Chinese community with the mainstream community, and China with the United States. Today, the Tucson Spring Festival Gala has not only become an annual brand and cultural event for the local Chinese community to celebrate the Chinese New Year, it is also regarded as an excellent opportunity to introduce Chinese culture to the local people and allow as many Americans as possible to understand and feel the charm of traditional Chinese culture more directly. At the same time, it has also become a rare opportunity to promote cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and the United States. Tucson 2013 Year of the Snake Spring Festival Gala, looking forward to your visit and viewing!
