New Oriental Music Appreciation Lecture on February 25th - Liu Luohong, the Chief Director of the Alberta Spring Festival Gala Time: February 25 (Saturday) 7:00pm Venue: New Oriental Art School Speaker: Liu Luohong In order to improve people's appreciation of music, broaden their horizons, cultivate their sentiments, and experience the beauty of music. We specially invited Mr. Liu Luohong to give a lecture on "Music Appreciation". Mr. Liu Luohong graduated from the Chinese People's Liberation Army Art Institute (Military Arts) and studied composition under the world-famous composer Guo Wenjing (currently the director of the Composition Department of the Central Conservatory of Music of China). He has been engaged in artistic creation for 30 years and has created a large number of instrumental music, songs and dance music. He has won many awards in music competitions at all levels in China. The most recent one was the dance music "Flowing Baby" created by Mr. Liu, which won the first place (gold medal) in the children's category in the 2011 China Central Television Dance Competition. This time, Mr. Liu focused on music appreciation, music knowledge, and music analysis combined with his own music works to increase everyone's interest in music and build a platform for making music friends. Friends who love and like music are welcome to participate. After Mr. Liu’s lecture, there will be time for questions and discussions.
