At the end of the year and the beginning of the new year, following the footsteps of the New Year of the Year of the Rat in 2020, the Alberta Modern Chinese School ushered in the opening day of the spring school year. On the morning of the 18th of this month, at the main campus of Arizona State University in Tempe, laughter and laughter rippled in the warm winter campus. Hundreds of teachers, students, parents and volunteers gathered together to welcome the first day of the spring academic year of Modern Chinese School!
At 8 a.m., under the leadership of chairman Tao Shicheng and principal Yang Yilun, a working group composed of the board of directors, school committee, some teachers, volunteers and student unions carried out preparations for the opening day in an orderly manner. Prior to this, the school committee has communicated and coordinated many times to effectively implement specific tasks such as curriculum setting, teacher staffing, classroom deployment, and work procedures for the first day of school, to improve the efficiency of the new student registration process, and at the same time, ensure the quality of teaching on the first day of school!
In less than half an hour, the computer registration system for course selection consultation was ready, and all staff were in place, waiting for parents who came to consult about courses and need to register on-site; on the other hand, the staff responsible for the purchase of teaching materials divided the teaching materials into categories according to subjects and grades, making it easier for parents to browse, select and purchase on-site. The reception staff organized and guided the arriving parents and students in an orderly manner. Everyone was busy and energetic, receiving every parent who came for consultation with the greatest enthusiasm and the most sincere smile.
At the same time, teachers from all subjects also arrived early to welcome every student with the fullest spirit. With an academic attitude of striving for excellence, we will provide children with a wonderful first class of the spring school year!
Currently, Chinese schools in Alberta offer many basic courses such as Chinese, mathematics, AP tutoring, SAT tutoring, etc., and actively expand extracurricular activities. In addition to continuing to offer courses in folk dance, Latin dance, chorus, art, chess, martial arts, photography, makeup and public speaking, professional teachers are specially invited to offer Sanda and yoga courses in the spring academic year, and ESL courses are also added. Members of the Board of Trustees and School Committee want to do their best to deploy the best resources to meet the learning needs of all students. 2019 has become the past, and we look back with pride and pride, because 2019 truly recorded the hard work and progress of all "modern people"; 2020 has arrived as promised, and we are looking forward to it, full of expectations and joy, because with the start of a new school year, we have a new beginning. On the new journey in 2020, all "modern people" will continue to innovate, move forward courageously, meet the new challenges of 2020, and create new excitement in 2020! In 2020, we will continue to "meet the modern world"!
