Arizona Modern Chinese School 2017-2018 Teachers' Association Modern Chinese School Lu Lihua reported When the curtain of the graduation ceremony has just come down, and the students of the Chinese school have gained a lot and are preparing to take a relaxing and happy break during the summer vacation, our teachers are still preparing for the next school year. On Sunday, May 21st, the Alberta Modern Chinese School held a teachers’ meeting. The meeting began with former chairman Jim Xi delivering a passionate speech. He thanked the teachers for their hard work, everyone's support for the work of the board of directors, and the school board and school committee for their full cooperation. Finally, the new chairman Tao Shicheng was introduced. Then the new chairman Tao Shicheng said with confidence: He was the principal and chairman of the school many years ago, but there were only more than 200 students at that time. The current school is definitely not the same. The current scale and workload can only show that the burden on the shoulders is heavier. Chairman Tao Shicheng expressed his gratitude to the school for its trust, taking over the baton, leading the board of directors to do a good job in the management of the school, and fully cooperating with the school committee to make the school better and better and reach a higher level. Amidst warm applause, Principal Wang Yulan happily announced that this year is the first time in the history of the school that the original members of the school committee have been re-elected. The principal and several vice-principals will continue to serve and contribute to the school in the new school year. The teachers were moved and inspired by their spirit. Principal Wang Yulan elaborated and explained the school's various management systems and the school's grand plan. The teaching materials selected by the school have undergone major reforms in the future, and the class settings have also been adjusted accordingly. The important activities organized by the school in the coming year and the training to improve the quality of the teaching team have clarified and standardized the teaching management and reward and punishment systems of teachers, with a more complete system to ensure the smooth progress of teaching and other work. With fuller passion and a more pragmatic style, we will promote the connotation development of the school, improve the taste of running schools, and create the characteristics of running schools. After repeated studies and listening to opinions from all sides, the school has reformed the class setting and the selection of teaching materials for the next school year. Vice Principal of Teaching Tian Shaowei announced and described the specific plan: the curriculum focuses on integrating Chinese culture into the teaching materials. The Chinese kindergarten class, first grade, and second grade will use Wang Shuangshuang's teaching material; pinyin classes will be opened at the same time, first and second grade Jinan classes; third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh grades will continue to use Ma Liping and Jinan teaching materials. The curriculum and teaching materials for the upper grades fully take into account students' AP exams and lay the foundation for AP classes early. The reform of teaching materials will inevitably increase the workload of teachers in preparing lessons. Vice Principal of Teaching Tian Shaowei excitedly told everyone that they have talked with every teacher who needs to prepare lessons again, and no teacher has complained or refused to take on the heavy new tasks. The school leaders were deeply moved and highly praised the teachers for their hard work and dedication, sowing the seeds with their hard work, fighting on the front line of teaching, and making great contributions to Chinese education. Vice Principal Tian Shaowei also arranged parent-child reading, knowledge competitions inside and outside the school and other teaching activities. Then the teachers divided into groups to discuss, learn and communicate. Teachers are fully prepared for the new school year. Everyone knows that the new year breeds new hope. We will meet the challenges with confidence, devote ourselves to work with enthusiasm, further enhance our sense of responsibility and mission, work hard for the vigorous development of the school, and contribute to students' Chinese learning.
