Announcement of the 2016 Joan Yen Cup Youth Painting Competition held by the Greater Phoenix Area Overseas Chinese Federation to celebrate the Independence Day of the United States
The theme of this year's painting competition is: protecting the human living environment. Contestants can draw pictures of their own choice around this theme.
Registration time: from now until April 24
Registration method: Participants please register online and send the registration form by email to qiaolianarts@gmail.com. (Attachment: Registration form) The registration fee of 5 yuan is paid when participating in the competition.
>Painting is divided into five age groups:
>Children group under 6 years old
Juvenile group 7-9 years old
Teenage group 10-12 years old
Teenage group 2 13-15 years old
Youth group 16-18 years old
Competition method: The painting competition adopts the method of on-site painting at the same time and place. Participants can complete the concept and draft according to the topic of their choice before the competition. The drawings are made on 11"X14" unified drawing paper, which is provided by the Federation of Overseas Chinese. Drawing tools must be prepared by the contestants themselves. Choose from pencil drawings, watercolors and oil paintings. Parents and teachers are welcome to accompany and provide guidance.
Competition date and location: Can be selected during registration according to personal circumstances:
April 30 (Saturday) from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm. Location: ASU Downtown Phoenix room 279 (UCENT) 411 North Center ave 85004 (No charge for street parking on holidays)
May 1 (Sunday) 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm Location: 2436 S Gilbert Rd. Chandler 85286
Evaluation and awards: The Overseas Chinese Federation hires a five-person review team composed of professionals, and each group selects three winners and several outstanding students. Medals and certificates are awarded during the Fourth of July celebration of the Fourth of July. The winning works were published on the Overseas Chinese Federation’s National Day special website and the website
. The Chinese American Professional Association (CAPAA) and Xiao Su Studio (Xiao Su Studio) have given strong support and help in promoting the Chinese community to carry out this event.
Young people who love painting from schools and professional studios are welcome to participate.
