The 2015 Miss Chinese beauty pageant organized by the Phoenix Overseas Chinese Federation was a success, with many new breakthroughs. For the first time, it was held from the Fourth of July to the beginning of the year, which facilitated the participation and training of contestants and added a joyful atmosphere to the arrival of the new year and the welcoming of the Chinese New Year. It was boldly moved to the Casino Theater, where the sound and lighting effects were greatly improved. The theater gave every seat of the audience a good viewing angle, and solved the transportation difficulties of nearly 200 elderly people at no cost. We hired ASU University Student Union Chairman Zhu Bowei and older generation host Annie to co-host the program, which was a great success. The young host's demeanor, wit, humor, and alternation of Mandarin, Cantonese, and three languages made every audience member's thinking closely connected with the beauty pageant. His participation also enhanced the relationship between the overseas Chinese community and young students. Many ASU students also came to participate in the beauty pageant and provide volunteer services. The young combination of chief director Wen Linglin and artistic director Hu Qiuzi showed the vitality of youth and proved the truth that young people will successfully create the future. Supporting and developing young people to participate in the activities of the Overseas Chinese Federation will bring new vitality to the overseas Chinese community. The arrangement of the program was also very exciting and compact. Classical dance accompanied by guzheng, violin ensemble, beautiful ballet and traditional Indian circle dance were all unique and of high standard, winning enthusiastic applause from the audience. Of course, as the main content, the performances of the beauties, everyone strives to show their beauty, talent, intelligence and wisdom, are really exciting.

When the judges selected the 2015 queen as No. 7 Li Boya, I remembered a beautiful and touching story and admired the judges' vision. It was September 2014. The Overseas Chinese Federation held its first beauties meeting at the Kangle Building. When everyone was leaving the meeting, a beauty accidentally knocked down the 86-year-old Geng Zhiping who lived in an apartment for the elderly while reversing. She was supporting Walker and waiting for her daughter in the yard when she was hit by a car and fell to the ground. At this time, Li Boya and her parents ran over immediately when they saw this. Her father held up the old man's head with his hands, slowly helped her sit up, kept comforting her, and asked her what was wrong with her. At this time, the girl who hit the car was at a loss. Sister Geng was a kind-hearted old mother. Seeing the child's panic state, she ignored her own pain, but said to the child that it was nothing, go home quickly! At this time, Li Boya and her parents never left Sister Geng. While helping her slowly walk back to the door of the apartment and sit on a chair, they also called Geng's daughter. In recent years, we have seen reports that some elderly people in China intend to engage in blackmail and passers-by are afraid to help the elderly when they see them fall. The behavior of Mr. Li's family and Sister Geng is in stark contrast to this. Sister Geng's waist was not good at all. She fell down and her feet were in pain for several days. She also had skin injuries and bleeding. But the elder sister did not talk about these things. She only wanted to embarrass her child. Li Boya followed her parents with good moral character, worked hard and passed on her good moral character. The firm and steady steps she takes on the stage are a reflection of her inner kindness and confidence. May our queen grow better in her service to the overseas Chinese community in the new year.
When I told Sister Geng that Li Boya was elected queen, she was very happy and asked me to convey her heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Li, Qu Ning (mother) and Li Boya.
