(Contributed by Phoenix Chinese School) Phoenix Chinese School held a graduation ceremony at the Mesa Community College campus on May 3. There are four graduates this year, namely Chen Yixuan, Xie Haoen, Luo Yunling and Sato Dailing. The school also specially invited Mr. Qiu Shunxiong, a well-known Chinese representative in the overseas Chinese community, as a distinguished guest this year. Mr. Qiu Shunxiong came with his wife and brought gifts to the graduates. Patricia Esparza, a representative from Mesa Community College, also came to the scene to congratulate the graduates. Mr. Qiu Shunxiong said in his speech that it is very rare to graduate from a Chinese school in the United States. He wished and hoped that the graduates could continue to study Chinese and promote Chinese culture in the future.

After the distinguished guest’s speech, Li Suhui, the instructor of the graduating class, then came on stage to introduce the graduates. Teacher Li Suhui first asked the graduates present to stand up and salute. She thanked all the teachers present for their hard work in teaching, and also thanked their parents for picking up and dropping off the students to Chinese classes every Sunday. The audience present also warmly applauded these students for not giving up their efforts in learning Chinese.

>Teacher Li Suhui has taught this group of graduates many times, so when introducing each student, she can talk about each one's preferences and expertise as if they are precious. After Teacher Li Suhui introduced a graduate, they went on stage to read their graduation speech. Almost every graduate said that they were reluctant to take Chinese classes at first, but gradually they realized that having Chinese language skills was an advantage. The graduates are very grateful to the school teachers and parents for their tireless encouragement and support over the years, which has enabled them to graduate from the Chinese school.

After the graduates read their graduation speeches one by one, the distinguished guests Mr. and Mrs. Qiu Shunxiong awarded each graduate a certificate and gift, and took photos with the students and their parents. At the end of the graduation ceremony, the school teachers lined up to see off the graduates. Everyone applauded and wished these graduates a bright future and a bright future.
