At 1 p.m., the graduation ceremony kicked off on time. First of all, I hope that the principal of the Chinese school, Ms. Tian Lin, will come to the stage to deliver a speech. She introduced the guests present at this event, including Yu Wenjin, Deng Chaoju, Zhang Zhaohong, Ruan Aiming, Zhu Yan, Lui Lihua, Tian Shaowei, Fannie Tam and Yu Hua. Principal Tian summarized the school’s teaching achievements over the past year and expressed his gratitude to people from all walks of life for their support of our school. Pan Shou'an, the principal of Mesa Community College, took the stage as a guest representative and delivered a speech. He reviewed the ups and downs that Mesa Community College and Hope Chinese School have gone through together to provide Chinese cultural education for overseas Chinese children, and looked forward to better Chinese teaching development in the two schools in the future. Afterwards, the projection screen in the center of the stage slowly lowered, and a short film commemorating the 20th anniversary of the school was played on the screen. In this short film, there are the blessings of the school from the presidents and chairman of the board over the past 20 years, as well as precious photos recording various activities and changes of the school. It allows us to see the school's development from a few dozen students in the beginning to more than 400 students today. In this short video, we noticed another special group besides the previous principals and chairman of the board - they are the volunteers who have been silently contributing to the school for many years. Today our old volunteers bring you the gifts they gave to the school for its 20th anniversary and the song "Volunteer Song" they adapted themselves to express their feelings. They changed the lyrics of "We are the successors of communism..." to "We are old volunteers of the Chinese school..." The familiar tune and touching lyrics made the audience sing along. Their voices won bursts of applause from the audience. This year, the school specially awarded primary and secondary school graduation certificates to students in grades 6, 11/12, and awarded scholarships to students with outstanding academic performance. This is an affirmation and encouragement to these children who have been studying in the Chinese school for more than 10 years. Finally, Mr. Li Jian, the new chairman of the school, took the stage to deliver a speech. He expressed his determination to lead the school board and school committee to inherit the traditions of their predecessors and continue to work hard to develop the school.

After the speech, the long-awaited artistic performance finally began. This year, starting from the planning stage of the performance, the organizing committee decided to change the practice of presenting programs in class units in previous graduation ceremonies, because the programs produced in this way are often large in number and lengthy, but the quality of the programs is not high. Since it is a special performance for the 20th anniversary, there must be a high-quality program that condenses all the essence and presents it to everyone. This year, the Chinese class has Chinese programs based on age groups. Although there are only 5 programs, each one has a profound meaning and is closely related to the children's study and life in the Chinese school. Under the careful guidance of six teachers, Cao Caihong, Zhang Shuping, Wu Shengjia, Wu Huanghua, Zhu Xuewei, and Yang Jingsheng, the lower grade group presented a childlike performance "Twelve Zodiac Signs". The performance combined singing, recitation, storytelling, and a question and answer session with the school's first old principal, Grandpa Tang Xiaoxian. Through rehearsing this program, the students have a clear understanding of China's unique zodiac culture, which animals are in the zodiac, their correct order, their respective morphological characteristics, and interesting questions such as why there is no cat in the zodiac, why the mouse ranks first, and so on.

The third and fourth grade students, under the guidance of teachers Chen Yuhe and Shi Jingwei, brought everyone the Tianjin Allegro "Learning Chinese". You know, it is not easy for Chinese children overseas to speak Mandarin well. This time, the Allegro actually made the children speak Tianjin dialect! Don’t underestimate those children. They played the Allegro with a crackling sound one by one. The Tianjin dialect was full of tune, and the humorous Allegro lyrics written by Chen Yuhe himself made the audience laugh. Many parents from Tianjin couldn’t help but give thumbs up to the children’s Tianjin dialect. Teachers He Zhouzhou, Wang Xiaoli, and Li Xiaoheng guided the Chinese students in grades 6, 7, and 8 to perform a short drama "Summer Camp" for everyone. It tells the story of a group of Chinese-American children who made many jokes while attending a summer camp because the pronunciation of Chinese was not standard and others misunderstood different meanings. It encourages the students in the audience to work hard to learn Chinese well so that they can make jokes like a fish in water when traveling to China during the summer vacation.

Chinese Grades 9, 10, 11/12 are the oldest students in the school and have studied the longest. In addition, Grade 11/12 are about to graduate and leave school, so they worked extra hard to prepare two programs for this performance. The prose poem "Action of Love" is based on the real activity of the school's student union calling on all teachers and students this year to donate money to buy school supplies and warm clothes for students in poor areas of Sichuan, China. It was written and recited by the students themselves. "Let love fly, let us connect the love of the world, from one side of the earth to the other. I hope that over thousands of mountains, love will spread thousands of miles." Listening to the children's loving voices, applause echoed in the auditorium for a long time. The historical drama "Borrowing Arrows from a Straw Boat" can be regarded as professional in terms of performance, lines, and costumes and props. "Zhuge Liang" is stroking his beard and shaking his feather fan, which is really lifelike and lifelike. All the cardboard warships, beards, costume hats, costumes and other props are basically made by the teacher with the help of the children. Therefore, their instructors Shen Haojin, Wu Siyuan, and Li Suhui also worked extremely hard. In order to create the scene of heavy fog on the river during the borrowing of arrows, Teacher Li also worked hard to create artificial fog beside the stage. All efforts were made to bring the children's learning career in the Chinese school to a successful conclusion and leave them with the most precious memories.

Although Chinese schools focus on learning Chinese, they also focus on developing students’ talent abilities, so the programs of talent classes should not be underestimated. The opening stage play "Mulan's Journey" shocked the audience as soon as it appeared. Speaking of which, "Mulan Goes Out" produced by Hope Chinese School is already well-known in the local community, but it was the first time it was performed in front of our family. When it debuted at the National Chinese Language Association conference dinner last year, the show was so amazing that it was praised by everyone. After that, it has participated in local Spring Festival gala, Lantern Festival gala and other large-scale performances, and has repeatedly received praise. This program was originally a theme dance rehearsed by teacher Jiang Lin's dance class, showing the touching story of Hua Mulan, a well-known Chinese woman, who joined the army in place of her father. In order to better fit the theme of the National Chinese Association Conference and inject more elements of Chinese culture, the school carefully selected the outstanding candidates from the recitation competition to form a recitation team. Under the leadership of teacher Shi Jingwei, the children interpreted the cultural background of the story and recited the famous "Mulan Ci". The ingenious combination of recitation and dance creates a more majestic and high-quality program with cultural significance and dual visual and auditory enjoyment. The historical song and dance drama "Chinese Impression" directed by Tang Ke spans thousands of years of history, from the civilization of the Tang and Song Dynasties to the patriotic youth of modern times, from classical dance to national costume displays, and on-site calligraphy performances by children. It condenses the essence of Chinese culture into a program of just a few minutes. It is indeed a memorable impression of China. The dance "Baby, come on!" directed by teacher Jiang Lin. 》creates a group of enthusiastic and lively cheerleading girls. As we all know, cheerleading is a very popular activity among young girls in American universities and middle schools. This dance allows little girls who are too young to have real contact with cheerleading to become addicted to cheerleading. The children are even more energetic.

Teacher He Chunling led her adult Chinese folk dance class and Chinese modern dance class to bring you the Chinese folk dance "Moonlight over the Lotus Pond" and the Tibetan dance "Voice of the Heart" respectively. The former is graceful and graceful, while the latter is exciting and makes the audience marvel at the splendor of Chinese dance art. Under the leadership of instructor Li Jinghui, the students in the martial arts class showed us the breadth and depth of Chinese martial arts. The children were all full of energy. Finally, the artistic performance came to an end with the singing of "Spring Dawn" and "Ocean, My Hometown" sung by the Hope Chinese School students and the Chinese Orchestra. All the performers came on stage for a group photo and the curtain call. Everyone was immersed in the joy of a successful performance and did not want to leave for a long time. In this performance, the performance of the four young hosts from Hope Chinese School was also remarkable and added a lot to the show. They are Yang Hanwen and Chen Zhuoting, who are about to graduate, as well as Ding Ruifan and Mao Yujiao, who are only in fifth grade.
