(Contributed by the Alberta Hualian) On May 18, 2014, a friendly tennis match was held between local Chinese tennis enthusiasts and Korean tennis enthusiasts in Phoenix. The friendly match was held at the Corona del Sol High School Tennis Center. This event was coordinated and organized by Coach Li, Howard Shim and President Wang Weizi of the Alberta Hualian Federation. During the event, singles and doubles matches were held. Regarding this event, President Wang Weizi said that this is the first time that the Hualian Association of Alberta and other ethnic groups have jointly organized an event. The event was successfully completed. I would like to thank Coach Li and the local Korean tennis team leader Howard Shim for the arrangement and coordination. I would also like to thank everyone for their active response and participation. The hosting of the event not only increased everyone's enthusiasm for tennis, but also brought closer the relationship between tennis enthusiasts of all ethnic groups. What is gratifying is that this tennis event was conducted in a harmonious and pleasant atmosphere from beginning to end. The players not only practiced their skills, but also fully enjoyed the fun of tennis. As one racer said, it doesn't matter who wins or loses as long as you're having fun. After the event, Howard Shim, the leader of the Korean tennis team, said that we have taken a gratifying first step together and hope to strengthen cooperation with the Alberta Hualian to host more sports events in the future.
