> Gilbert Junior High School will close in the 2014-15 school year (Alberta Times) The Gilbert Public School Board of Trustees recently voted to close Gilbert Junior High School during the 2014-15 school year. Gilbert Classical Academy will move into the current location of Gilbert Junior High School, and current Gilbert Junior High students will be transferred to other schools in the campus. The board of trustees voted to form a special committee to help the school transition and help students transfer. Superintendent Dave Allison told residents after the meeting that Gilbert Junior High School was closed due to declining enrollment over the years. In its place, Gilbert Classical College will admit students on a lottery basis.
