Hosted by the Greater Phoenix Overseas Chinese Association In order to welcome the 2013 National Day, the Phoenix Overseas Chinese Association will hold the 2013 Youth and Children's Painting Competition. This competition is named after the painting artist Joan Yan to commemorate her lifelong contribution to art education. Everyone is welcome to participate.

The theme of this painting competition is: I Love Arizona

Conditions of entry: All Chinese school students, independent painting class students and individuals who are under the age of 16 (including 16 years old) living in the greater Phoenix area can participate.

Entries: No limit to painting style. Ink, oil, and pencil drawings are acceptable. The appropriate size of the work is 40 X60cm. One piece per person must be a new work for this competition.

Works are submitted for review; paintings should be sent (mailed) to the designated location before May 22, 2013 (to be notified separately). Please write the author's name, age, school or studio name, and contact number on the back of the work submitted for review.

>Judgment and Awards: The Association will hire people with artistic attainments in the region to form a judging panel. Instructors whose works are participating will not participate in the review process. The selection of works is divided into three age groups. Children under six years old are in the infant group, seven to eleven years old are in the juvenile group, and twelve to sixteen years old are in the youth group. Ten winners were selected from each group, and a total of thirty winning works were selected. The winning works will be displayed and awarded at the conference celebrating July 4th, and will be included in the Phoenix Overseas Chinese Federation's 2013 National Day commemorative album. The works will be displayed in relevant newspapers and galleries. Awards include trophies and certificates. Prizes or bonuses are awarded to the top three.

After consultation and agreement with relevant units, two additional locations will be added to the east and west of Daluohuang City for the public collection of paintings participating in the painting competition. In the eastern region, please ask Fucheng Restaurant to collect it on your behalf. The address is 2075 N. Dobson Rd. Chandler Az 85224.
