(Overseas Chinese Federation News) The Overseas Chinese Federation of Greater Phoenix City convened a meeting of all overseas Chinese delegation representatives on March 14 to elect a new leadership team for 2013. The chairman of the Federation of Overseas Chinese was re-elected by last year’s chairperson Ms. Zhang Huafang.

>Zhang Huafang The Overseas Chinese Federation currently consists of eighteen overseas Chinese groups, namely Deng Xinping Veterans Association, Association of Science and Engineering Professionals, Phoenix City Homology Association, Chinese American Professional Association, Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Alberta Chinese Restaurant Association, Desert Jade Women's Association, Phoenix City Longgang Office, Deng Gaomi Office, Overseas Chinese Women's Association, Chinese Seniors Association, Chinese Welfare Association, Rongguang Association, Taiwan Fellowship Association, Huang Clan Association, Yu Fengcaitang, Yingduan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as the newly joined China Week Committee this year. The Overseas Chinese Federation holds a general meeting of overseas Chinese groups at the beginning of each year. Each group appoints two representatives to participate in the voting and jointly elect the chairman and other board members for the new year. Most of the members of the new leadership team elected this year were re-elected in the previous term. The vacancies left by the retirement of some outstanding board members due to health or other circumstances were also filled by new candidates: Xu Qiang took over as the new Chinese Secretary, and Zheng Yongqiang took over as the Finance Secretary. Xu Qiang has served in the Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese for many years and is experienced and active in his work; Zheng Yongqiang has gradually taken charge of the finance of the Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese since last year and works seriously and responsibly.
