At 10 a.m. on April 27, the ASU NEEB auditorium was packed with seats, and the 2013 graduation ceremony of the Alberta Modern Chinese School was held grandly here.

>AP Chinese Class Yu Xinrui, Guo Siyuan, Tan Xiaofeng, Sun Yingyu Violin Ensemble The conference kicked off with the beautiful violin sounds of four students from the AP Chinese class Yu Xinrui, Guo Siyuan, Tan Xiaofeng, and Sun Yingyu. A familiar Chinese folk music "Kangding Love Song" made all the teachers and students in the school intoxicated. Immediately afterwards, Vice President Sun Jijun, as the host, solemnly announced that the graduation ceremony had officially begun. First, Principal Larry Song gave a passionate speech. In his speech, Principal Song summarized the work of the school this school year and thanked all teachers, parents and volunteers for their strong support to the school. Based on his more than ten years of service in Chinese schools, Principal Song has a deep understanding of calling on everyone to get more involved in Chinese schools, and contribute everyone's efforts to help children learn Chinese well and spread Chinese culture. Principal Song also specially presented a trophy to Vice Principal Yu Zhi. The trophy was engraved with the words "Boundless love, unlimited good deeds, enthusiastic about public welfare, and benefiting future generations" to thank him for his many years of hard work and great contributions to the Chinese school. At the same time, he hopes that more parents will join our volunteer team like Principal Yu Zhifu. Principal Song's speech was drowned out by a burst of warm applause at the end. It turned out that he was introducing next year's new principal, Zhu Yan. Parents and students are very familiar with her. Teacher Zhu Yan has been the vice principal and AP Chinese teacher at Modern Chinese School for many years. No matter how small or small, she can be seen everywhere. It ranges from planning, organizing, deploying, publicizing and celebrating the annual China Year, opening AP Chinese classes despite the lack of teachers and teaching materials, editing the school magazine for each semester, organizing the annual end-of-year thank-you meeting for teachers and school committees, board of directors, school volunteers, etc., to signing discount card contracts at Chinese restaurants one by one every year, participating in various community activities on behalf of the school, etc. No wonder there was such warm applause and everyone expected it.

School leaders Tao Shicheng and Gary Li

Honorably retired vice-principal Yu Zhi Next was the speech by chairman Connie He. In her speech, she thanked the school management team for their full cooperation and introduced the new chairman and new directors. According to the school's management charter, the term of three old board members has expired this year. Parents voted and elected three new board members with high votes: Larry Song, Jim Xi, and Xiaohong Wang. When Connie announced that the new chairman was Larry Song, the audience once again burst into warm applause. The applause was full of admiration for these volunteer leaders, embodying the parents' gratitude to the silent devotees for the school and the children. The long-awaited moment for the students has arrived. In order to prepare for the "Chinese Knowledge Contest", they did not leave the competition topics assigned by the teacher throughout the spring break. Vice Principal Shen Haojin summarized and commended all the students who won awards in the Chinese Knowledge Contest. A total of 114 students in the school won awards. Among them: 25 first prize winners, 38 second prize winners, and 51 third prize winners. When Teacher Shen Haojin asked the first, second, third prize and encouragement award students to stand up and accept the commendation, all the students holding the trophies stood up together, all of them were in high spirits and triumphant. From their faces, we could see the joy of harvest, which was obtained by sacrificing a lot of rest and play time. Diligence and persistence will lead to success. Among the award-winning students below, who doesn’t shine with the words “diligence and perseverance”? Normal school homework, various extracurricular activities, and various talent classes. Under this heavy pressure, five of our students, including Guo Siyuan, Ruan Tianle, Jiang Rui, Yang Hanwen, and Zhang Chuyi, won the Excellence Award in the "2012 Overseas Chinese Youth Chinese Knowledge Competition". The chairman awarded them certificates. Then Teacher Tian Shaowei, the head of the Chinese teaching team, summarized and commended the students who achieved excellent results in the YCT Chinese exam. 8 students achieved a total score of 280 or more.
