As Chinese and Asian Americans across the U.S. celebrate the Lunar New Year, the U.S. Postal Service is scheduled to issue Year of the Dragon zodiac stamps on January 23, 2012 (the first day of the Lunar New Year). The launch ceremony will be held in San Francisco's Chinatown. The China-US Philatelic Center established in Los Angeles will also issue a first-day cover to celebrate the Lunar New Year on the same day. The United States Postal Service stated in a new postal bulletin that "people born in the Year of the Dragon are respected, have strong energy and irrepressible innovation ability."
