Consul General Qiu Shaofang, Deputy Consuls General Bian Lixin, Sun Weide, all members of the Consulate General, and representatives of overseas Chinese from all walks of life in the consular district attended the reception. On behalf of Alberta Hualian, Fei Jian, chairman and chairman, and Tao Shicheng, director, were invited to attend the reception and visited the diplomats. During the conversation with Consul General Qiu Shaofang and the staff of the Consulate General, I briefly reported to them the work and activities carried out by the Hualien of Alberta in the community in the past year, and hoped to receive further support from the Consulate General for the work of the Hualian of Alberta. In the affairs of overseas Chinese communities, if the Consulate General needs help, the Chinese Federation of Alberta will try its best to assist. At the same time, we also took this opportunity to invite Consul General Qiu and diplomats from the Consulate General to Phoenix to attend the sixth Alberta Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day series of events. In his speech, Consul General Qiu Shaofang briefly introduced the work carried out by the Consulate General in the past year to the guests, reviewed China's achievements in economic, social development and diplomatic work in 2011, as well as China's positive role in international affairs. He expressed his gratitude to the overseas Chinese for their efforts and contributions to promoting Sino-US friendship and cultural exchanges, and extended warm Spring Festival greetings and best wishes to all overseas Chinese, overseas students and friends from all walks of life in the consular district. He also said that the Consulate General will further adhere to the purpose of "people-oriented and serve overseas Chinese", continue to care about the lives of overseas Chinese and support their local development, strive to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of overseas Chinese in the United States, and make due efforts to promote pragmatic cooperation and healthy development between China and the United States in various fields. The reception was full of strong nostalgia and friendship, and the guests exchanged New Year greetings. The Spring Festival reception ended successfully in a warm and peaceful atmosphere.
