The sound of firecrackers bid farewell to the old year, and the flying dragons and phoenixes welcome the new year. The Chinese Cultural Center in Phoenix was bustling with activity on Sunday, January 29, with many ethnic groups participating in the event gathered in the activity center. The performance of the Chinese Culture Week kicked off with the golden dragon flying and the lion awakening to celebrate the Spring Festival. Teachers and students of the Alberta Hope Chinese School also gave wonderful performances. Representatives of Hope Chinese School first greeted the audience of various ethnic groups with New Year greetings and introduced Hope Chinese School. After the introduction of the program, the first program performed was the children's dance "A Good Start". A group of innocent and lovely children performed lively and cheerfully, bringing New Year's joy and blessings to the audience.
"A Good Start" Next, Yan Jieya, the winner of last year's American Chinese Song Contest and who represented the American region in the summer to perform at the Water Cube in Beijing, sang the song "Qinghai-Tibet Plateau". Her loud and beautiful singing voice resounded throughout the China Cultural Center, pushing the performance atmosphere to a climax.
> Yan Jieya sang "Qinghai-Tibet Plateau" Next, teacher Nie Jingjun performed the Xinjiang dance "Pick Up Your Hijab". Her wonderful performance brought surprises to the audience. It makes the audience feel as if they have entered Xinjiang and feel the warm, fun, mysterious and unique customs. Finally, Chen Zhuoting and Li Weixi performed the Huangmei Opera dance "The Goddess Scatters Flowers". The goddess scatters flowers, bringing good fortune to the world. Their beautiful performance brought the performance to a perfect conclusion. The whole performance was brilliant, and the audience responded with bursts of enthusiastic applause and cheers to the performance of the teachers and students of Hope Chinese School. Chen Zhuoting and Li Weixi performed "The Goddess Scattered Flowers". On that day, the booth of Hope Chinese School also attracted many people. Teachers, parents and students from the student union introduce Chinese culture, Chinese calligraphy and handicrafts to visitors. Many foreign friends came to the booth with their children to learn about schools and learning Chinese. Amidst the laughter, I hope that teachers, students, parents and friends of all ethnic groups in Chinese schools will celebrate the New Year together, and at the same time, friends of all ethnic groups will have a better understanding of China and feel the charm of Chinese culture!
