(news from this website) In the 6th New York International Piano Competition held at the Manhattan School of Music from the evening of June 18th to 22nd, Anna Han, a Chinese from Arizona, stood out from 22 outstanding young pianists from all over the world and won the championship.

The organizing committee of this competition selected 22 contestants from music tapes sent from all over the world and held the competition on-site at the Manhattan School of Music. Players participated in a total of four rounds, and their rankings were determined based on their overall results. Han Anna won the best result in this competition with pieces such as Haydn and Franz's Sonata No. 46 in E major.

Han Anna is 16 years old this year. She started learning piano at the age of 4 under teacher Xu Fei. She is good at playing classic piano repertoire of Bach, Mozart, Chopin, and Haydn, and has won many awards in international piano competitions.

New York’s “Stadeko and Horovitz Foundation’; founders are Mr. Newman Horowitz and Melvin Sticher. From 1960 to 1999, they have been committed to music education for 39 years. In 1999, they began to hold the New York Piano Competition every two years to encourage young people to devote themselves to music. In 2009, they began to accept foreign contestants and renamed it the New York International Piano Competition. The accepted contestants are between the ages of 16 and 21. Mr. Newman Holowitz said: "The New York Piano Competition does not use an elimination system. All contestants participate in all competitions and are judged at the end. ” Competitors go through four rounds of competition, followed by master classes and lectures, for a total prize of $40,000. Winners win performance contracts for concerts in various locations across the United States.
