Yin Xirong is appointed as the 2012-13 Chairman of the Chinese High-tech Association of Alberta. The Chinese High-tech Association of Alberta appointed Yin Xi as the Chairman of the 2012-13 year this week. The association was established in 2002 and currently has more than 100 members, mainly distributed in major companies such as Intel and Marvell, and there are also some members from Alberta State University. Yin Xi, male, Han nationality, born in 1982 in Kunming, Yunnan, holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Tsinghua University and a doctorate in engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He is currently a senior packaging engineer at Intel Corporation. The research and development work he is currently engaged in is mainly the packaging structure design and process optimization of microprocessors for smartphones and tablet computers. He has authored six articles in top journals, given academic reports at international conferences four times, and won the National Scholarship for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad awarded by the Chinese government in 2010.
