> Hope Chinese School 2011 Autumn Sports Meet (Alberta Times Coco Report) The air is crisp in autumn and it is the most charming season in Phoenix. It is very pleasant for the whole family to take a walk outdoors. The 2011 Autumn Sports Games kicked off grandly on October 30th at Chandler's Wild Grass Park. What is very different from the traditional Chinese campus sports games is that the best students from each class are selected to participate in the Chinese campus sports games, and the others are cheerleaders. The sports games here are participated by all the people, and all the children in the school are athletes, including parents. Take a look at the mini drama "Pull the Carrot" presented by the preschool teacher Sun Ting, which made the parents laugh. The children’s pure Chinese made the story come alive. Ma Liping's first-grade Chinese students recited children's songs loudly and lined up to perform the Thousand-Hand Guanyin. The pony in the third grade teacher Shi Jingwei's class ran happily across the river, and her Chinese was particularly authentic. The little beauty narrator who was wearing a red cheongsam and was responsible for reading the story told the story vividly and interestingly. The children here performed lively, and the student union over there announced the start of game activities, including a three-legged race, a mummy relay, and a Halloween costume competition. Not only did the children come, but even their parents also joined the competition team, and everyone who participated would win prizes. The organizers used tissue paper as a mummy wrapping cloth, and a player who was wrapped like a white rice dumpling was running hard and shaking his head, making the young players feel the joy of the sports meeting. Tug-of-war is everyone’s favorite, and everyone can participate. This time, 43 children participated in the final tug-of-war activity. Teachers and parents arranged for these competitive little tigers, but it was not easy. Teacher Dong Bin kept maintaining order with a small speaker and fixed the middle mark of the rope in the middle. Many parents stood by to teach the young players the tug-of-war skills, and were "wary" to see if any children or parents were ready to "help." Just hearing the sound of "go", the little ones suppressed their blushes and grabbed the thick rope that was far larger than their size with their little hands. They pulled hard. In less than a minute, the result was revealed... The winner swarmed towards the person who gave out the lottery tickets... It was not just the children. Running and jumping, cool dynamic music was playing under the big pavilion. Children, teachers, and parents all danced to the school's aerobics teacher Jiang Man. The youthful and energetic atmosphere permeated the entire sports meeting... I have seen great changes in Chinese schools in the past few years. For example, the methods of learning Chinese are becoming more and more colorful. As long as they can learn Chinese, teachers and parents are willing to spend time to "play" with their children. Principal Zhao Caihong said that children make rapid progress in learning Chinese, and teachers are very important, but parents’ cooperation and attention should come first. She thanked teachers and parents for their joint efforts, so that everyone can see the rich learning achievements of children now. For example, the student union has begun to play an important role in Hope Chinese School. Student Union Chairman Li Hongjing said that not only can they bring exciting and participatory games to children during sports meets, but they are also responsible for supervising classroom hygiene during class and participating in the organization and management of school activities. Teacher Xie Xiaohong, head of the talent group, said that in the past, teachers and parents had too much control, and the school should have some space to exert their own organizational and management capabilities.
