Phoenix City Zhang Zhaohong
In the small town in front of Bryce National Park, there are not many star-rated hotels, and the prices vary greatly. I found this WESTERN online, and when I made the reservation, I found out that it is headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand. The price is much cheaper than other hotels with the same name. However, there are also things to note. Rooms booked in this 3-star hotel cannot be returned within three days, while other hotels can still cancel the day before. In addition, most hotels here do not include breakfast, so pay attention to the fine print. It is best to use an America Express card when making a reservation, especially when purchasing overseas. The headquarters will send you an email to verify immediately to reduce fraud. Also note that weather forecasts, even for a country as developed as the United States, often make mistakes when the weather turns from warm to cold. For example, before this trip, I checked that it would be cloudy for three days, but it turned out to be heavy snow and sunny. According to the information, the snowfall here was 22 inches in November, 55 inches in December, and as high as 76 inches in February of the following year. Therefore, I would like to remind everyone that before departure, it is best to call the hotel where you booked to check the actual local weather conditions. Because visibility is often poor when it snows, you can't go on a journey of thousands of miles and not see anything. When you come back, you can say "the scenery of the North, thousands of miles of ice, thousands of miles of snow"? The next morning, the outside of the hotel was covered with snow, there was snow on the roof of the car, and the windows and doors were frozen. Based on past experience, the car wipers have been pulled away from the front glass window before moving in to prevent them from being frozen together by ice and snow. In the morning, I wring several buckets of cold water and pour them on the car body. This is the fastest way to remove ice and snow. It is also necessary to turn on the heating in the car in advance to allow the mechanical parts and the interior of the car to warm up. At around 9 a.m., we drove to Bryce Canyon National Park. After entering the park, I learned that except for the "Bryce Amphitheater", which is known as the wonder of the world, it was open, and other routes in the park had been closed due to ice and snow. But it was sunny after the heavy snow, making our trip worthwhile. Although Bryce Canyon National Park has the word "canyon", it is not a real canyon, but a unique landscape on the plateau formed by wind, river and ice erosion and lake bed sedimentation. It is known as a natural stone temple and a huge natural amphitheatre. Its unique geographical structure is called a hoodoos. The canyon was discovered by the Paiute people, who lived by hunting and gathering wild fruits. According to legend, the rock pillars in the canyon were transformed from very cunning coyotes. In this dangerous place, cattle often disappear for no reason. In 1875, Mormon believer Ebenezer Bryce immigrated here and named this area "Bryce Canyon." Bryce Canyon is located at a higher elevation than neighboring Zion and Grand Canyon parks. Having very different natural ecologies and climates makes us feel huge differences. After millions of years of erosion by water and grinding by mudslides, all the rocks look strange and permeate with a strange atmosphere. The sedimentary rocks formed over time show magnificent scenery of different colors due to different metal element contents. The rock pillars are colorful and dazzling. Some unique rock pillars can be as high as 200 feet, as if they are pillars reaching into the sky; some are like characters and animals in various fairy tales; there are also ingenious stone caves, arch bridges, and huge natural amphitheatres. Today we came to Bryce Canyon National Park, and the majesty of the stone pillars from a distance was breathtaking. This is a piece of nature's art with an alternative style, and it is very shocking at first sight. In my eyes, these stone pillars are like thousands of soldiers standing on the snow-capped mountains and ice fields, with a strong and well-proportioned lineup. Under the rising sun, the brown-red soldiers looked energetic, and they looked so elegant and natural against the blue sky and green forests. There are thousands of troops and horses distributed in various positions and trenches in the alpine snowfields, forming lines of defense from the top of the mountain to the deep valleys! And in the rear, there are also batches of reserve soldiers ready to go! The lineup of these armies all over the mountains and plains is more powerful and spectacular than the Qin Terracotta Army in Xi'an! There is a shaky "city wall" in the canyon, and behind the city wall, there are seemingly rows of "high-rise buildings and palaces". These buildings are reddish-brown under the shadow of the sun, adding to the layers and colors of the snowy scene. In addition, we really saw the majestic image of "horses going out to battle" in the snow, especially the soldiers at the front, one man holding four horses. This is all due to the white snow embellishment of the red rocks, making the Snow Terracotta Warriors and Horses more vivid and ready to be seen! A close-up shot was also taken and named "Farewell": in the lower left of the photo, there are four grandfathers and grandsons, another woman holding a child in her arms, and villagers bidding farewell to the soldiers on the expedition. On the right, there is a man dressed as a general looking at the passing soldiers as if to give instructions, and this soldier has already put on white armor, bid farewell to his relatives and friends, and walks to the battlefield. This is the most appropriate and interesting photo I have ever taken. With the description of the scene, after browsing the Bryce Canyon Park photos on the Internet, I have never seen such a lifelike portrayal! There is another photo of a group of fairy-tale dwarfs, painted with various ears, eyes, mouths and noses by Bai Xue. They are very beautiful. If it hadn’t been for the arrival of Snow Queen, I really wouldn’t have been able to see the masquerade of these stone elves! The story is over, back to reality. Many travelers from all over the world are not afraid of the severe cold and slippery ice and snow, and travel thousands of miles to visit Bryce Canyon National Park. Or what kind of state will the cloth look like in the eyes of the young man next to him who has never seen the Terracotta Warriors and Horses? When we say goodbye, let’s take a photo with Bryce Canyon and have a white Christmas in advance!
